Ok, need some help. I shot in the scruff tonight and it appears that his absorption is SO much better than on his sides - so either I am doing something wrong when shooting his saddle or there is something wrong with him (I think it may be me - lol).

    What am I doing wrong?

    +2=151 :eek::eek:

It's hard to judge that by just one cycle because any number of things can influence absorption, but... Lantus is supposed to be shot into fat, so if it's not in fat, theoretically it could release faster than it should. Some people have said shooting in the scruff delays the action (I think there is less blood flow in the scruff) so it's an interesting result. I'd try it again a few times and see if the result is reproducable, if it is, you can use it to your advantage. :woot:

    Look at his SS

    04/15 AM cycle
    04/16 PM cycle
    And tonight

I noted it in the comments. I am pretty sure I am shooting into fat (just underneath the skin) when I shoot his sides. I am watching utube videos but not finding anything showing saddle shooting.

I like to rotate left, right, shouder, flank so he doesn't get any scare tissue.

Idk, but maybe it’ll all unbaffle with more info from the next cycles?

my observation for you from looking at your ss is that it is more likely that he saw some green after the blue.
looking back at your timeline, for example, on 4/15.... look how quick he went from yellow to blue to green.... just a few hours passed.

He could very likely be doing that while you are sleeping....
so when you see those pink spikes, i'd be more inclined to believe that he saw some green.

IDK but I don't think so. His cycles in the past year have been pretty consistent.

I hate it when work gets in the way :D

That was one of the cycles that he got insulin in the scruff.

well, there are quite a few hours in that time frame where you just don't know for sure.

the pattern is there when he does it for you during the daytime which isn't very often. But it is a pattern....
    just sayin'

    it's a possibility, imho

Yep. And what I have learned is they really like to keep us guessing

I am going to shoot the scruff through the weekend and see what happens.

Moved up his +4.5 to +4 to try and keep him surfing safe.

I'd say you should always check him later when he's blue since he seems to move right on down.....
