? 05/22 Plume big dose mix-up (wrong syringe) for start of Lantus. Dose advice?

Good morning to you all!

A new post to inform you of a big problem: My pharmacist has the wrong syringes!!!!
Because of this error, I injected 5 IU of Lantus instead of 0.5 iU ! No Wonder Plume reacted so well from the second cycle! After a cycle without injection, I resumed the injection with 2.5 IU (instead of 0.25...)

But for the evening injection (six hours ago for us), I injected 0.25 iu with a new syringe, a good syringe 100 IU, 0.3 ml…

So I come back to you with a question: What dose do you recommend to inject now?

Attention: I corrected my table by indicating the doses really injected.

Quel erreur! Je suis content que Plume n'ait pas eu de problème. Je pense que 0,5 unités pourrait être trop faible parce qu'elle n'a pas chuté très bas lorsque vous avez donné 5 unités ou 2,5 unités. Je vous suggère d'essayer 1 unité.

What a mistake! I'm glad that Plume did not have a problem. I think that 0.5 units might be too low because she did not drop very low when you gave 5 units or 2.5 units. I suggest you try 1 unit.

 

That's just too scary This pharmacist made an awful mistake... I'm really glad that Plume didn't get too low with that amount of insulin!
Let's see what other members think about that.

I had confidence in my pharmacist but I should have asked the groups advice: I blame myself even if Plume is fine!

Ne t’en veux pas, les mélanges de seringue en changeant d’insuline ça arrive. Je pense qu’un 1ui est une dose de départ prudente et qu’on pourra rapidement augmenter, par petits paliers.


EN: don’t be too hard on yourself, syringe mix-ups do happen when changing insulin! I think 1ui is a prudent starting dose that we will be able to increase quite quickly by small increments.
