06/04 BB numbers not going down and less interested in food

I am feeling really discouraged! I panicked after the first cycle on 1 unit but now am thinking I should have stuck with the higher dose and just given more snacks. Her numbers are not budging and at this point BB is only eating when I put the food directly under her face. She will then eat most of whatever I give her (agressivly so for freeze dried treats) but seems too tired to bother to get up to go even 3 inches to the food. However she will walk from the east side of our house (only 1500 sq ft) to join me in bed or go outside for some sunshine. She is also making it to her litter box to potty but is just sleepy .

Side note where do you give the injections? I find when I give them in her side she gets more of a drop then when my partner does in the neck.

I did get her the petsafe 5 and when it turns I go in wake her up point at it a bunch pick her up to standing then point some more before shoving it under her face and watching her devour the food.

Do you know that BB's spreadsheet is in your Trash?

From what you were describing, I expected to see a spreadsheet full of red and black. Numbers in the 200s are not bad given that you've been at this for about 2 weeks. Cut yourself and your kitty some slack!

Since you're following SLGS, the dose increase was premature but not terrible. With TR, you can increase after 6 cycles. If you're able to continue testing like you have been, you might want to consider TR.

Your cat is likely feeling crummy due to being diabetic. Some cats don't like swings in their BG. However, if it keeps up, you may want to have the vet take a look. I'm glad you're testing for ketones.

Some cats get better insulin absorption in places other than the scruff. It sounds like Dawn is one of those kitties.

No not sure why it was on my trash, I took it out.

I am second guessing the SLGS as I can test her often and don't mint doing so, I was just nervous starting with a high dose. Can I go TR from here?

Now that I look at it my signature is confusing, I am Dawn and BB is my diabetic cat.

Ok so I figured out why BBs spreadsheet was in the trash, it said permissions had changed and it was view only. I could not figure why so I made a copy and tossed the original.

Hi. You definitely test enough for TR. From what I’ve observed over the years it gives the best chance of remission.
