AMPS 202 shooting 3.5u

Boomer left about a serving of food last night.

Last evening a commercial came on tv and a noise in the commercial scared Boomer. He hid under the bed in the spare bedroom. At PMPS I had to move the bed to get him, I had to shut both bedroom doors to keep him from hiding under the beds, turned the tv off, and made DH sit down because he decided that crumpling up some aluminum foil and banging pots and pans around was a good idea:rolleyes: I had a heck of a time getting Boomer to eat but he did eventually, got his shot, then the rest of the evening was pretty much business as usual; Boomer laid by the back door most of the evening. He did come up to lay beside me once during the night but again at AMPS I had to drag him out from under our bed and it took a bit of persuasion to get him to eat. Now he's back under the bed in the spare bedroom.

I'm going out for a while but my allergies are really bad right now so chances are I'll be home long before +3. Hopefully DH will decide to do something outside so that the house remains quiet:rolleyes:
 
Isn't it odd what sets them off? DH can be coming down the stairs - Luci goes rigid if it's test time...now what's up with that? Not always but sometimes we have to put everything and everyone in the house 'on pause' at test times...:facepalm:

He's still spooked. Earlier he did jump up on his desk (which is where he spends every morning) but jumped down and hid under the bed when I walked down the hall. Except for that one short period of time, he's been under the bed since AMPS. Luckily, when he hides under this bed he lays near the headboard at the wall and the bed is on rollers so I can move it and get him out easily.

I brought him out into the kitchen, warmed up his ear sock and tested. Kept him on his testing table petting him until his dish turned and of course it chose today to not turn properly. I left him to get a fork to scoop out the food and of course he went back into the bedroom. I've managed to get him to eat only a wee bit of his food; I've left it for him beside the bed. Things are very quiet here; DH has gone golfing, tv is off. With all the noise that is quite normal around here I'm not sure why this one noise has spooked him so very much.
 
I checked his plate, he hadn't eaten any of it so I gave him a bit of a different food and added some shredded chicken to it. He did eat that so I've left him with a bit more.

And to top it off, last night when he left me to go sleep on his bench, when he jumped one of his hind legs missed the bench. So I want to make sure he's walking ok but of course this morning when he headed to the bedroom he was skulking down so I couldn't really tell.

Boomer continues to be very nervous. He came out 2 or 3 times when I was here by myself. But when DH got home and we sat down to eat lunch and turned the tv on, he came out (to see what was being offered for lunch) then as soon as he saw us sitting there (or perhaps he saw the tv on) he turned and hid in the bedroom again. That was around +7 and he's been in there ever since. I took food into him and a couple of pieces of chicken; he did eat but won't take the chicken from me, I have to put it on the floor.
I brushed his teeth on his testing table after his shot then DH brought the brush over....brushed him a couple of times then walked to the living room and called him. Boomer did follow him and is now sitting beside him (jumped up by himself, not lifted by dh).
 
Oh poor Boomer! It's always so frustrating when they get spooked, especially when you have no idea what actually caused it so you can fix it. I'm glad that he's come out. I hope he calms down and everything goes back to normal soon!
 
One time I moved our couch from one side of the room to the other, Nyx lost it... She was so scared and nervous, she hid behind the toilet and would spit / hiss when I approached... I took her to the vet because I thought she might have an infection or something but the vet said she was fine and that even small changes to a cats habitat can really throw them off.

I wonder if that commercial has some sort of cat subliminal messaging o_O Crazy that it threw Boomer off so much, I hope he gets over it soon :)

Boomer spent most of the evening with us; he played on the floor with his nanner. Later on he went to the back door and looked out for a while. But he's still skittish. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
