Yesterday’s post. Kitten bounced this morning and this evening looks like she is on her way down again. I was babysitting tonight so I didn’t get much testing done.
I’m planning to go camping June 26-28 if I can find someone to watch the cats. I currently don’t have anyone comfortable with shooting insulin (definitely not comfortable taking BG). I’m working on training a friend to administer insulin but I’d appreciate if anyone has any suggestions/advice on what to do during vacations, preparation and/or change in dosing to keep kitten safe while I’m away.
Worst case scenario if my friend isn’t able to administer insulin, what are the risks of Kitten skipping insulin for 4 cycles? Ideally it will not come to this, but I know my friend will for-sure feed the kitties but she is nervous about administering insulin. I am really trying to get kitten regulated and I don’t want to mess that up. If she isn’t able to administer insulin I would consider forgoing Friday night camping, head up Saturday and then kitten would miss 2 cycles instead of 4. Thoughts?
Also I will be gradually working towards changing Kittens dose times so my friend doesn’t have to come here at 5 am so I’ll be slowly moving towards a 730 am/pm dose time.

I would love to do this camping trip with my sister, brother in law and their kids. We will be boating to an island and I’m in desperate need of a break from reality and living under the stars!
