Guess the little bit of pain meds took care of what was ailing him - lol. I only gave him 0.1mL of the Torb - boy did it space him out last night. He sat in front of his water bowl staring at the wall for about 5 min straight. Didn't move, then he laid down beside it. Woke up this morning to him "yelling" at me to feed him (daddy was already fixing his feeder - lol). He didn't eat his YA @ +6.5 but he was probably sleeping. Hubby says he has eaten ok this morning (not great, but did finish both PS & +2.5).

Gave him a tablespoon of I and Love and You Wholly Cow. This is the old formula. I wanted to try it again to see what it does with his BG. He loves it but when I gave it before it seemed to raise his BG. It says it is 3% on Dr. Lisa's but 16% over at the Tanya's food data tables. Two different measurements. ME on Dr. Lisa's, DM on Tanya's.
 
Tonight he is getting a mixture of the duck and beef. Going to see how it goes and if he eats well I will continue it. I will give it a day or so and see how his numbers do with the addition of the beef. Likely will be higher tonight/tomorrow due to the lows this morning so unless they absolutely skyrocket and he eats well will give experiment a chance.

He got his B12 shot this morning and his weight is 11# 11.5oz!
 
Do you feed raw meat? Ravan was just diagnosed with Pancreatitis & CKD so I'm looking for low Phos canned .
He's been eating Raw all his life but since the diabetes he sometimes goes off his food.
Gizmo's Bg is what i dream about for Ravan ! :joyful::joyful::joyful:

No. I have tried it a couple of times but Gizmo isn't crazy about it. The one raw I first fed was too high in phosphorus because it was made with bone and Radcat was tried during a panc flare and he was turned off of it. He has many issues and if he were to get tainted raw it would likely kill him. Plus it is difficult for me to get. There is only one small pet store that carries it that is close.

You can check on the "food" tab on Gizmo's SS. I have some listed. His current favorite isn't on there. The Whole Earth Duck Pate. 3% carb, 130 phos.

Low carb/low phos + him liking it is becoming quite a challenge :banghead::mad:
 
I became Vegetarian so i could feed raw meat to my 5 kittens 16 yrs ago. They ate raw chicken with the necessary supplements for 15 yrs. I've never had any problems with the Raw chicken ( walmart 1.99 a lb!) I'm clean, but not fanatical about it. I use White vinegar
for cleaning everything. No chemical sprays or other cleaning products in my house. I hear Vets & other people make comments about feeding Raw meat & I think about stray cats eating dead animals outside.I figure what I'm feeding has to be better than that :D

Any way, as I've said, never had a problem. Ravan is back to eating his raw diet most of the time but some days he'll eat canned food.This rotten diabetes is doing bad things to his eating!!

I'll try the canned food you mentioned. Thank You! :)
