It was until the lug jumped up on the bed and "chirped" in my ear. I guess he new it was almost time anyways.

I tired, had a difficult time getting back to sleep but I finally did. Probably got about extra 2 hours.

I would NEVER pay $900 for a dryer - ever. It is just the two of us and we don't need anything fancy - just a clothes dryer :joyful::joyful:. That deal was less than half of the bottom of the line GE and Whirlpool "new" models. They were running $450-500. I was so pleased I felt like I won on a scratch off lottery ticket

Did you say LUG!??? My grandmother Ora Mae, used that expression. She called my Dad a "Big Lug" I recently had to call my uncle in Memphis and asked him what the heck did lug mean?? I have never ever heard anyone else use that expression!!

    Another Scottish term????

    :joyful::joyful::joyful: I have no idea.

I call Gizmo my lug-bug (vs luv-bug). That goes back to when he weighed 17#'s. Still feels that way when he lands, jumping from the floor onto me in bed, and I am in a dead sleep.

I almost sent you a video via PM but it has some salty language and I didn't want to offend. It is hilarious.

I call Bubba my lug-bug too from when he was a hefty 23 lbs!!

Salty language does not offend me. ;)

So my Uncle Jack tells me he believes a lug is "a big handsome brute" . Is that your understanding of the word?

Well, interesting development... He refused to eat his +4.5 so I broke out some of the new food. The Ziwipeak Venison - he loved it. Ate every bit of it. Time will tell if that continues but I will continue tonight and tomorrow to see. If so, I will be ordering some from Chewy.. It is a bit higher in phos but I will just add additional binder. It has more calories so actual quantity fed will be less (by a bit).

Nice find on the dryer. I won't tell you what I paid for my new ones in 2007 a year after we bought this house. Let's just say Magtag, newest front load on pedestal models (washer and dryer).

    And love Texas Roadhouse.

Well, I suspect that the different protein will cause him to run a bit higher, at least for a couple of days. I think I will attempt to mix it 50/50 for the next couple of days (if he will eat it that way).

Oh , dear, Lizzie ...yet another phrase that transcends regions :woot: Yes, we use the word “lug” to refer to large humans and animals :) Our son weighed 10 lbs at birth ( I am 5”2’:woot:) and lug was lovingly used in reference to him by other family members :)

HA! Scots dialect! I think my grandmother must have meant the Celtic god of artisanship and warriors as she worshiped my Daddy!

Yeah, it was never meant derogatory, it was an endearment term, lovingly said... "oh, you big lug" usually accompanied with a hug.

Not really that I know of . Not for a large nice bloke anyway. More for ears.
Lug / Lugh (looh) was a god in Irish mythology.
I will ask about if anyone in the UK/RoI uses or knows the phrase in this context.

I am thinking more Scandinavian, at least in my family. My dad would say it. My g-grandparents were from Denmark. Who knows? Lol.

@ +11 he got Cerenia, Ondan, Mirtz and his BP meds. For this cycle I am mixing the duck & Ziwi venison. I will not be surprised if his numbers are higher due to the change in protein. The Mirtz has kicked in and he ate wonderfully at dinner. He is currently being very vocal too - lol. He wants to go into the garage with his daddy - nope.
