Looks like maybe his "normal" cycle is slowly coming back? He seems to be feeling better but not 100%. Eating good. Purring, loving and vocal. It will take him a few days.

How long should I continue the Cerenia? I am thinking through Friday and the access him over the weekend?

I sure miss my vet. I would normally just e-mail or call her to ask things like this. I hope they are back soon. Gizmo needs BW in about a month.

Hoping all Florida kitties (and beans) are safe and weathered the storm with little to no damage.

I'm glad Gizmo is feeling better. I hope he gets back to 100% soon. You may want to put Cerenia? in your subject.

Sending more prayers for the people in Texas as they recover.

Looking like a nice cycle shaping up. I don't know the answer to the Cerenia question. The times I gave to Bubba I only did as needed but others with more experience with have more knowledge of how to use it with the best efficacy.

Good luck back to work today.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with what's going on with Gizmo, but in general I always say you want to continue anti-nausea meds until you are at least several days past the return to normal behavior - it's easier to stay ahead of the yuckies than it is to catch up. It sounds like he is feeling better - prayers that it continues!

Hope your vet is back up and running soon
Oh, me too. I am worried I will have to find a new one (at least temporarily).

prayers as you go back to work as well as thoughts and prayers to Texas , Florida and those who lost loved ones on 9/11...cannot believe it had been 16 years .
Good luck back to work today.
Very stressful day. Lots of emotions. Between Gizmo, Harvey, Irma and 9/11 it was a hard day. My company had an office in WTC1 on the 91st floor. Thankfully they all made it out but it is still a hard day for me.

@Amy&TrixieCat Can you answer Lizzie's question about the Cerenia?
Thank you :bighug:
Unfortunately I'm not familiar with what's going on with Gizmo,
He is having a pretty bad pancreatitis flare. I think we are getting to the end of it. His eating was never an issue but @Kathy and TiTi said the Cerenia had some anit-inflammatory properties so I have given it to him the past two days.

It's very hard when it hits close to home. One of the doctors I worked with lost her brother in WTC2. We were listening to the news after we realized the first one was struck and when they broke in to say the second one had been hit and which floor, she got up from her patient who she had just numbed for a root canal and said "I am sorry, I need to leave now to be with my family.". Ugh.....

It is something I will never forget, I am in the law enforcement field and spent 2 months at ground zero after the attacks starting on 9/12 at 5a. The worst part was visiting the the areas where family members were waiting for word of their loved ones.

Just checking in.
As to cerenea: I started giving 6mg every 3rd, and then every 4th day, because it's really pricey. However, this resulted in a recurrence of pancreatitis. I think the inflammation continues at an undetectable level, ready to flare up the minute I reduce TiTi's dosage. I have seen this over 5 times now during the course of 2 years. I think that some cats never fully recover from the initial bout of pancreatitis and require ongoing treatment. This is, of course, anecdotal "evidence", and may or may not be so. However , I am tired of taking chances with it.

I know how you feel about your vet. I miss my vet terribly. She moved back to S. Carolina, and her replacement is insecure, nowhere near as bright, and doesn't tell me all the options available for my pets, because she knows I'm poor. I have told her repeatedly that I want to know all the options, no matter how pricey, but she doesn't seem to hear me. I suspect the vet who runs the clinic is advising her to do so. Still she does her best and she's all I've got. Sigh.

These were our offices. There were a couple of people that actually saw the plane coming into the building.View attachment 30944

God. I lived 100 miles N. of NYC at the time. 6 years earlier, I had worked on the 98th floor on one of the towers. I don't know who got out. I hadn't kept in touch because it was a temp'contract position. When I first saw the plane hit the tower, I almost threw up.
