I don't really understand what's happening with Ivana at the moment. It looks like the insulin is not even having an effect. I know she didn't go low last night because I got a +7 at 1am and she was high even then. Is this still NDW? I really hope the new dose starts to kick in soon, this is the 5th cycle of 1.25u, eek.

Well, it's having some effect...just not what we'd LIKE to see!! Without it, she'd be a lot higher!!

Come on now Ivana....you can do better than that!! Let's see something in BLUE!!

Looks like we will probably be going up to 1.5u soon, when it's time to reassess. Which is what she initially started on. Ack, stoopid diabetes.

Don't get frustrated, Tara (easy for me to say, right?). This is a marathon, not a sprint, and it takes time to find the right dose. Interesting that getting a shot early didn't bring her down more. You very likely will be increasing again soon, but let's just take it day by day. THIS IS NORMAL for newly diagnosed FD kitties! You are doing fine.

Meanwhile, How is Ivana feeling? Is she eating well? Is she doing her normal things? You need to remember to consider the whole cat, and if all else is well, relax. We'll get that dose figured out!

Thanks Tricia. Ivana is fine, she is her normal self in every way. She has even become a little more affectionate since her treatment began, which is a huge step for her.

It's weird that her nadir today was higher than her pre-shot - as Chris said, if the insulin is working, she would have been absolutely sky-high without it. We'll get there Ivana, don't worry!

The nadir is the lowest value in the cycle, it can move in time from cycle to cycle. When Neko was on Lantus, her nadir was anywhere from +3.5 to +13, depending on how high she started, whether she was bouncing, or if she felt like confusing me! Maybe Ivana will come down later in the cycle today.
