While not getting green pre-shots, Max seems to have settled into this dose nicely. No poop again :eek:other than the small amount yesterday so I did give him 1/8 t miralax. Maybe if he gets one good one first the pumpkin will start working I hope. He woke up before the alarm, used his box and meowed just a little. I ignored him so he went under the bed but did come out on his own instead of making me get him out. :)

All in good time, Molly. We have poop and a clean plate! Too soon after the miralax so I think the pumpkin will work. I reread the info on miralax and if it contains antifreeze for sure we won't know until the new research is done but I can't take that chance. I will need patience pants to not use it again.
 
Hi Elise, Max is still looking good! I read your posts RE:Miralax- it is frightening to think how many people use it regularly and have no clue what the long term effects might be. But thanks for posting that article-knowledge is power! Do you give Max sub-q fluids or does he take in water with his food at all? Because of Tiger's potential CKD, I am always fearing dehydration and resulting constipation. So far the pumpkin is working well for Tiger, she poopes pretty much every day with the pumpkin, but when I had used organic baby food squash the results were not consistent. I do not believe it raises her BG. What do you think about the use of psyllium husk if pumpkin doesn't work for Max?
 
Hi Ruth. Max gets water in his food every time I feed him. He'd eating the pumpkin mixed in his food so I think I just need to figure out how much to give him to get it right. Psyllium will be the next thing to try. Have you used it? Thanks for stopping by. I hope Toger is doing well. Have I missed a recent condo, hint?
 
You're right. Max sure seems to have settled in to this dose. How nice.

Hope the poop stuff comes out all right...er, something like that. Folks I know who use pumpkin with their cats do like the results.

Marilym, I read that cats bounce until they just don't but never really got it until recently (anti jjinx). Have a great rest of the day.
 
Max is looking great today. Getting the stuff out of his colon probably helped, too. ;) Cinco is so excited to be spending time with his buddy again. I hope Max will share his secret to these lovely surfs with Cinco. :D

Looks like Max and China are both doing well at holding their reductions lately! :)

I was looking at China's SS and thinking that if it weren't for a few PS readings (and a couple of others) she would have earned another reduction for staying in normal numbers for a week, but since she's doing so well at this dose, I'm hesitant to reduce her again anyway

Lovely cycle and great news on the clean pipes.:D I recently switched Neko to pumpkin, more for economy than anything else. Also, not all the stores here have bf squash. Neko loves her pumpkin. Last week I was making pumpkin scones and she came over begging both when I got the butter out, and again when I got out the pumpkin.
 
I remember when China almost did it. The only difference with Max and China is I am barely shaving his dose but you have been able to reduce in 0.25 increments. I thought Max was going to warn another but now I'm not thinking that way any more. Sorry about your vacation but you will get there.
