He is getting worse for testing too. Even wrapped in a blanket it is a wrestling match to get him tested. Its not that he doesn't like the testing, he doesn't like having to sit still.
At least this bounce was shorter. I hesitated to drop the dose with him back to the 400s, but 400s to 39 in 6hrs wasn't pleasant. Maybe today we can try some blue bottoms with a yellow top eh Lincoln?

Sorry he is putting up such a fight :arghh::banghead::( I assume that he gets treats after every test? Maybe you could take him to the testing spot and just give treats some of the time without testing and he will associate the location/position with getting treats?

Wouldn't it be great if they could only understand and speak English (or French or whatever!). They we could explain the "why" of what we are doing to them...

Hopefully, after he starts feeling better, he will make the connection between the tests/shots and feeling better.

Lincoln. Yup. I've had some fluid cats that were fine with the fluids but sure hated being restrained. So, goofy boy, show some restraint when you're being restrained.

Sorry he's fighting the testing so much. Have you tried giving him loving before the test to make it more pleasant for him?

I think @Tricia & Cinco & Harvey uses something called Cat In A Bag for her Harvey? Hopefully Mr.Bouncey Lincoln will settle down a bit! :bighug::bighug::bighug: He is one lucky little dude to have such a great mamabean!

Yup he gets treats or his food after the test, we have a chair in the room that I go in and sit in and have him come jump up and get pets in before and after. He just is in constant motion for attention and food and can't sit still at all. The better he feels, the more energy he has. He is the first cat I ever shot in the scruff, but its the only way to tell I'm getting the insulin in is by holding him by the scruff when I am shooting.

Nooo kiddin'!!:eek: Reminded me I still had not unpacked the box that contained the karo syrup. Just finished doing that with how this cycle was looking. Thankfully he's running a little slower today.

He is taking less time to come out of the bounces maybe. Could be a good sign even if painful.
 
Hi Melanie.

I use the cat sack for Harvey, and so does our petsitter, Dawn. Harvey is a typical Abyssinian - perpetual motion machine. It's the only way I can pill him. Amazingly, he is very calm when he is in the sack, and he's gotten used to being put in it, even helps by putting his front paws in himself! Mercifully, we are able to shoot his insulin without using the sack, but only I can test him without it - DH can't even catch him to put him in it! :rolleyes: It's one of the best tools I've found for treating my kitties.

I hope Lincoln settles down a little for you and stays out of the deep end of the lagoon.
