Not bad for the first few days on Lantus. He’s been consistently in the yellows so we’re gearing up for a dose increase to 1.25u on Wednesday morning. I feel very good about this change so far... and so does Spot! He’s almost acting like his old self again these past few days. It’s clear to me now for whatever reason the Prozinc just wasn’t agreeing with him anymore. Crossing fingers and paws for more good things to come!!

Well I spoke too soon.... he was doing better but I got home today and saw he didn’t touch his midday meal and threw up bile. He looked absolutely miserable, so i gave him some Cerenia.. which he vomited up about 15 minutes later. I then gave him some Pepcid which he seems to be keeping down and seems a little less miserable looking. Along the way I assist fed him a few fingerfuls hoping he would start eating on his own. Ugh... This is pretty much par for the course with him, but I did check his urine and it’s negative for both glucose and ketones. So that’s good!

He never did finish his midday meal but he did finally finish his dinner almost 2 hours after his shot. Seems to be feeling a little better now that the meds have kicked in!

I am so sorry to hear that Spot wasn’t eating and threw up vile. But glad he ate dinner and is feeling better. You indicated that this is typical for him ? What caused the episodes?

I usually attribute it to pancreatitis but I also suspect there’s something else going on. Not EPI.. we tested for that one. IBD or GI lymphoma are some things that have been discussed with the vet... but he’s putting on weight now and the episodes only last a short time so I have put off testing. I wonder if this time he was a little bit constipated. I found a single big poo in the litter box since my last post o_O
