Yesterday's condo
The first time I woke up today was at 2 am when a certain black kitten decided to chomp down on my toe that must have been sticking out from under my blanket.
Needless to say, I was wide awake while the furry crew happily enjoyed an early snack (canned food, not my toe
). Unfortunately, I didn't set another alarm for +8, so Mandarin started his day in blue.
No clue what Walter is up to today... I can't see any logical explanation for the bounce. Well, other than the fact that he's a cat of course.
It's already been a busy day: I took Iris for her recheck this morning. The vet is pretty sure that her issues are not allergy related since only the right side of her face is effected (lots of discharge from her right nostril, yucky right ear). She took a sample of the nasal discharge and sent that in to get cultured (to see if there are any strange bacteria). So far, antibiotics, steroids, allergy meds, Albuterol, Lysine, essential oils, and homeopathic meds have all not made a noticeable difference. If anything, the discharge is worse.
For right now, she is only getting some immune support. We will wait for the results from the swab and go from there. Ideally, she should probably get a CAT scan to get a better look at the right side of her face. But I just don't have the money for that right now. Through all of this, she is just the sweetest, cuddliest little girl (with me, not with the vet) and she is so used to all the yucky discharge that it doesn't even seem to bother her anymore. I should probably be happy about that, but knowing that this is "normal" for her makes me even more sad in a way.
