yesterday's drama

I'm delighted to report that the longer Radar was home yesterday the more relaxed and happy he became. He quit hiding, took a bath and ate well last night once he got his evening meds. This morning he's eaten everything I've put in a dish for him. His new favorite is Kangaroo but because it's a new protein for him I'm only giving a very small amount at a time to make sure his system has a chance to get used to it.

We went to see the vet tech in our regular vet's office this morning so they could check his blood pressure. They were very gentle and calm with him, but he was really nervous and scared. They did 3 tests and they were all about 160. The vet tech spoke with the vet on duty in the practice. The vet said Radar's blood pressure numbers have come down from where they were at the ER so this is positive news. I was also instructed NOT to give him the blood pressure meds prescribed by the ER vet. We plan to do a recheck of the bp next week when my regular vet returns to the office.

In the meantime, I'm waiting for the depot to stabilize so we can get those really high numbers to come down and help Radar feel better.

Great Radar report! Neko loved kangaroo, it was her favourite. I used to joke it was a mouseupial so of course she liked it.

I am glad you got the BP rechecked and confirmed no BP meds for now. I always gave Rescue Remedy before a BP check visit and sprayed the carrier with Feliway to relax Neko.
