Yesterday's condo

Pretty spectacular day for Walter yesterday! He briefly dropped below 50 in the morning, but managed to stay on his surfboard for the rest of the night without any more HC food. Very happy with today's start too.

I woke up feeling like I was hit by a truck. I kept setting alarms to check on Walt and didn't sleep well in general after what happened yesterday. I wish I had time to go btb for an hour. But I am about to take Capone to the vet to get his "hot spot" (or whatever it really is) checked out. Also really hoping for some news on Iris's culture.

Christina it's not surprising that you didn't sleep well what with everything that is going on! I hope you get to have a nap at some point today.
Sending some vetty vines to Capone!

It sure is hard to sleep after the day you had. Hope it's a quick easy fix for Capone and those results come back for little Iris. Looking good Walter and surf safely buddy.

I hope today is a better day for you. :bighug::bighug::bighug: Sending prayers.

Sending good vetty vines for Capone. I hope you get good new on Iris' culture. Walter is looking good.

Your boys are looking great.

Sending vetty vines for Capone.

And some of these for you after what must have been a very rough day:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
As Amy said, keep your wits about you.:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Christina I just read your condo from yesterday - I am so sorry - my 1st reaction is - given all the recent hate crimes, and your department, plus the recent vandalizations there, could it be one of the random crazy nut jobs who feel empowered right now? Please take any and all precautions - too bad you can't bring your dogs to work
I hope the police will really look into this - so sorry you had to experience this mega hugs

We're back home from the vet. Luckily, Capone is the most easy-going cat you'll ever meet and he actually enjoys going to the vet. She was pretty sure that he is having an allergic reaction. His armpit looks really angry and is super itchy. See picture below. He's on ABs, steroids and I have a topical cream with Lidocaine to help with pain and itching.

I also got the results for Iris's culture. She tested positive for three different types of bacteria: Moraxella, Pasteurella and Gamma-Hemolytic Strep. So she will be on more ABs... and she is almost impossible to pill.

I am definitely ready for this week to be over. All I want to do is curl up in bed, but I better start prepping my classes... still a long day ahead of me.

Ouch - some of those (Pasturella) is part of the cat's normal flora, so I'm not surprised it showed up in a culture
I hope the antibiotics help and most of all, I hope you can destress and get some much needed rest

:bighug: hey Lady, Mandarin looks good today.

ETA: Omg:oops: didn't read any of condo just wanted to say "hi" and assumed all was well..didn't realize Mandarin was otj either! Concats!

Healing vines sent!

:bighug:Christina, I caught up with what happened to you yesterday . How very scary! I hope they can find out who made the call and bring them to justice.

Boy, what a mixed bag your gang has. Mandarin still rocking it, Walter looking good and copying his brudder :cat: and then the flip side, poor Iris and having to be on AB yet some more. Can the AB be liquid? And yikes for poor Capone! It looks awfully sore. He is gnawing on it? The lidocaine cream will help a lot. I use aloe vera sunburn gel with lidocaine on my dog Lucy when she has hot spots and it stops them in their tracks and she leaves it alone. Hope he gets relief asap. Do you have any idea what he would be allergic too? Any new foods?

Hope you can get a good nights rest tonight. :bighug::bighug:

Just read your condo from yesterday. How awful. I have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Although I never carry it and it's locked up. Lately it seems there are more delivery/utility scams in our area I now keep it in arms reach. And I sit in the chair by my window so I can see any vehicle coming into our driveway.

Poor Capone! At least he's easy-going at the vetty. I was going to ask the same thing as Bobbie...can Iris's AB bec compounded into a liquid? Prayer that everyone gets healed up quickly!!

Oh that spot looks horrible; poor Capone. Hopefully the meds help quickly.
Good luck pilling Iris! Will pill pockets work with her?
I hope you get some time to yourself today.

I'm glad you found out what the issue is with Iris and an start a treatment to help the poor little girl.
If Iris is like my Sasha, liquid would not be any easier than a pill. Have you ever tried using a cat restraint bag? It really saved the day with Harvey. Once he was in it, he totally calmed down and I was able to use both hands to pill him. After a while he even climbed into it himself when I brought it to him!

Way to go, Walter! I guess that party we threw for Mandarin made you realize you wanted one, too, huh? You're headed in the right direction, buddy. Keep up the good work!

Poor Capone! That looks so painful! Does he have to wear a cone to keep him from licking it? Have you thought about putting a doggie shirt on him? That's what I did when Cinco's hot spots were somewhere like that, so I didn't have to cone him. Worked great.

I'm not surprised you didn't sleep much last night. I wouldn't have, either. I hope there are no more stupid threats and you can carry on with business and life without fear. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Same here - liquid is actually worse with her. At least with a pill, I know if she swallowed it or not, but with liquid, I never know how much she gets. Sometimes, pill pockets work... but not for a more than a day or two and then she gets suspicious. I had never even heard of a cat restraint bag before. It really looks like a good idea though. I tried wrapping her into a blanket like a little kitty burrito today - but it's like she's spring loaded.

Meanwhile, I can just hold Capone like a baby to medicate him and put the ointment on.

Great idea! Why didn't I think of that! He's so miserable in a cone, I'm sure he will prefer a shirt.

And I almost just hit the ground when I heard a strange sound outside of my office. I guess I'm more on edge than I originally thought.... and I still have a 3-hour night class to get through.

And good sleep vines to you. :bighug:
Apparently, Osha shared her secret about the expedited trampoline order with Walter. But, on the bright side, it looks like I might get some sleep tonight. I'm officially exhausted.. but I made it home safe and sound.
