10/01 Nelli PMPS 118 40/45 +2.5 36 +3 4.25 47/49... SS

Hi there Krystina,

Looking at the SS seeing as she got to 61 just a couple of cycles ago, it doesnt leave you much headroom for taking the dose up though not completely new to greens, she's not seen all that much green so I would probably hold the dose for now, and see if she can hit green again in this dose.
You do right to reassess regularly we don't want to hold on to a dose for too long, but equally we don't want to rush things and get into a pickle.
 
I suspect Nelli had Nadir at +4 or +5, its usually at +5. *Would have been nice to see an extra green on SS :)! Could not get home in time to test +4 or +5. Numbers going back up now pushing blue- I am going to wait until +10 because today I started her back on transdermal theophylline which gets smeared on outer inside; at rim :-(. Had a heck of a time drawing blood drops this morning because of medicine on ear.
To wipe it off, wash it off test herthem put it back on... I am concerned that with open poke it will sting, at minimum irritate her. In here lies why I would like to minimize, as much as pokes today as possible

Great job on the testing today Krystina...sorry it's so problematic with the theophylline - how long is that going to be an issue? Wish there was another spot for the med...:(

Well, I will see tomorrow. She has mild asthma and it has flared up so I smear this on her as needed. Don’t tell Lucy this but the red tide is an issue and we live very close to the water, quite possibly could be this or be... Krystina needing to vacuum all corners of the house including the bed for dust mites! Thankfully I guess, we have hardwood floors with a few rugs scattered about!
 
Is Nelli due for a reduction or a stall? Should I give reduction tonigh or let this roll on thru 8-10 cycles?

No reduction. You will only be reducing if she goes under 50 on a human meter. Can you monitor tonight? If so Shooooot. You have shot a 94 in the PM cycle of 9/17. Go for it. Get a +2 to see if the cycle is going to be active.

Since she just showed you some greens today, we want to see her get back into greens in at least 6 cycles or 3 days. That is how long it takes a bounce to clear. Tonight she is in a low blue, and that is a small bounce from today.

Tonight is cycle 5 on the increase to 5.75. The depot can take 4-6 cycle to completely fill. She is looking good. It's been 5 cycles since she was in a yellow number. :)
 
Krystina, I would feed, give some higher carb food, maybe something around 12%, or higher, sorry, I don't know how carb sensitive Nelli is, but feed about 2 tsps, and see if that gets you back up over 50, retest in 20 minutes.

I see we cross-posted, good job giving some food, I'll watch for your next update. FYI...You can also mix the two to get something around 19% if you are finding you need just a bit more carbs.
 
Sorry, didn't mean to confuse you, you mentioned you had Merrick 12% and something else that was 25%, so if you mix the two foods you'll get a carb somewhere in between.

Let's see how she does with the 25% carb food, up you go Nelli!
 
How is she acting? You're doing fine, I'll keep watching for you, I'm just going to check on Mav then I'll be back. We want her up above 50, you may need a few drops of honey or Karo syrup, but I've never used those. Let's see where she is in 15-20mins, hopefully that 25% will kick in.
 
36 is too low, so you'll want to test again 15-20 mins after the last test. Depending on that number, I'd probably try and give some gravy squeezed from the higher carb food, you don't want her getting too full, she may it want to eat later if you need to get food in her. You may need to check a few more times, but again, it depends on the next BG test. You'll want to see better numbers (above 50) without carb intervention for 2 hours or so, carbs can sometimes burn off quickly.
 
Much better! So, here I'd feed just a smidgen of something LC, about 1-2 tsp, just to give a little extra carb, and hopefully no more dropping under 50. That's just my approach, some might not feed at all. I'd still want to check in 30-45mins to see if Nelli is above 50.
 
Lol...Well, when you get quick drops around +2 after shot, that usually means an active cycle, which you are currently seeing. So, you'll likely need to put a pot of coffee on..because you'll be up for a while ;):coffee::coffee: we call them PJ parties, because you usually stay up late!
 
That was a big a$$ drop. Nelli has earned a reduction. So tomorrow, her dose will be back to 5.5. Since she went up by .25 to this dose, I think it reasonable to take her back down by .25 unless others think differently.

When was the last test? Tell me in + number talk and not your time as we are all in different times zones .

Scrolling through this thread, it looks like you gave her MC food? I would bring out some HC food. When they fall that fast and that low that early in the cycle, it calls for high test ( HC)

I can't stay on, I am totally exhausted as I was up till 1 Am assisting someone in the Mid west with a cat flirting with going under. '

Get her up over 50. You will know that she is going to hold when you get 2 test 30 minutes apart with no food and she is holding up over 50. You still have to get to nadir, so you might want to put some coffee on
