I got 15 perfect syringes out of 100! Well, since all syringe brands are inaccurate I'd like to try the caliper method. When reading the kitty's SS it would be nice to have assurance that wonky numbers are not the result of human error in measuring. Sure comfort is reasonably affordable and has a nice smooth action. I have the 1u Sure comfort atm but, plan on ordering the 1/2u increments, from my local pharmacy, tomorrow(support local!). I'm using the perfectly marked BD(1/2 unit increment) for now. Wendy kindly provided a link to the thread regarding calipers. I saw BD was one of the brands listed so, I can reference that for now. Was just inquiring if anyone has the Sure comfort conversion before I do the math myself. TIA!Does anyone have a caliper conversion guide for Sure comfort brand syringes?
I'm absolutely appalled at how inaccurate all of my syringes are! I switched from Relion to BD thinking... American company, manufacturing tolerance standards should be higher.I got 15 perfect syringes out of 100! Well, since all syringe brands are inaccurate I'd like to try the caliper method. Thanks for the reply Sue. I hope you and the family had a great weekend. Has Luci been a good girl? She's very lucky to have such a dedicated mom and DH.I only have it for Relion syringes.
I wish I had the measurements for Sure Comfort but when I polled the group, no one was using them. If you get it, please pass it on and I’ll add it to the post. Thank you.Does anyone have a caliper conversion guide for Sure comfort brand syringes?

When you get time...no rush.... I'd appreciate the Relion measurements as well. Having a reference guide from a very experienced person, as yourself, would allow me to double check myself for errors. Thanks again and have a lovely evening.
Thank you Sue. Do you have trouble reading my SS? Does it crash for you as well? I have to back up my original SS's(I don't want to lose them) so, Marje can transfer all of my data from my SS's to this website's SS version. Oh the insanity! Thank goodness I finally got my flash drive so, I can copy my original SS's. I thought SS's were universal, LOL! If I knew people weren't capable of reading my SSs I would have fixed it a long time ago. Goodness I feel like a jerkOn Luci's SS - there's a tab named 'Information', 3rd tab to the right. Calipers conversions for the RELION only are on line 6-23 from Marge. Hope this is helpful.

I hope you, Luci and family have a great day!
I had no idea my SS wasn't compatible with this website. No one has ever told me and I've actually had people compliment my SS. I'm quite baffled...sorry. I thought my version, utilizing google drive and google documents was just a "jazzed" up version of what you guys use. Who knew?!? Would you know why there's incompatibility? I love to learn as much as I can. Puts wrinkles in the 'ole gray matterI wish I had the measurements for Sure Comfort but when I polled the group, no one was using them. You aren’t going to want to hear this but the SS you are using is from the FB group not associated with FDMB. The issue with those SSs is that they don’t work well with this site. Every time I tried to open its SSs, as soon as I started to scroll through them, they shut down the SS and this site for me. I even tried to open them just through Google Sheets and the same thing happened. I have noticed this with every single one of the SSs from that FB group.
I strongly urge you to switch to our SS as the way the ones you have linked perform, it’s difficult to study them without them shutting down. I’d be glad to do the transfer of all your data on both SSs to our SSs if you will send me a PM.
From what I could glean from them before they shut down, I see your increase on them both was in 0.1u. The dose increase for them where there BGs are is 0.25u. SLGS is already a very less “aggressive” approach than TR and increasing by only 0.1u at this point will further slow down their progress.
I’m assuming most members wouldn’t say anything but, being the SS guru, I spend more time with SSs than most and it’s become an issue. In fact, right before she passed awayI had no idea my SS wasn't compatible with this website. Puts wrinkles in the 'ole gray matterLet me back up my original SSs and I'll send you a PM so, you can transfer all of my data to this website's SS version. Unless you want to explain how to transfer data from one SS to another. I don't want to waste your valuable time on a chore that I can easily do myself.
Since you can't read my SS, I'll explain why I increased both cats by .1u. My first increase with both cats was .25u(after the 5 day period). Both cats didn't accept the increase..dropping into the 50's/60's at +4. Their #'s were consecutively below 90. So, per SLGS I decreased them back down to the original dose(1u & .75u). Well Moey decided to drop, again, below the acceptable 90's at +5 & +6. So, I decreased him again, per SLGS, by .25u. His dose was then sitting at .5u which wasn't doing enough for him. Ittle's dose of 1u wasn't doing enough either. So, I decided to increase both cats by .1u instead of the full .25u. I was thinking slower dose increases might allow their body to accept the increase more readily w/o going too low resulting in bounces. Maybe I'm crazy and just plain inexperienced with Lantus...but that's how I interpreted the SSs. Y'all have far more experience than I. Anywho, we'll see how things go with their #'s and I'll adjust their doses accordingly.
Thanks so much for checking in on us, Marje! The kitties appreciate all the extra attention and eyes on their progress! It's most helpful to have a community looking out for us!![]()
, Jill and I were discussing this very issue and the best way to inform members coming from another group that they needed to use our SS. A start was made with this post.
