Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

How about this? A condo from us while it's still today! :woot::joyful: Let's see if I can get this finished and posted before the timer on the potatoes goes off...

Guess it wasn't a fur shot last night, after all. And that dosecrease threat paid some dividends. He ALMOST made it to the lagoon today. So the question is, do we increase in the morning or give it one more day to see what he does?

I can't decide if Cinco is trying to get back at me for doing all these mean things to him, or if he is just having trouble making it to the lb. He both peed and pooped on the floor in the bar today. Thank goodness it wasn't on the carpet, but it was close. I took the Cover Me off of him because it isn't covering the spot on his hind leg, and I think the areas on his front legs are healed enough now that they won't bother him (anti-jinx). The hind leg is bandaged and he hasn't bothered it yet (more anti-jinx). I hope that will correct the lb issues. Collar is still in place, just in case.

Harvey saw the IM today. A new one, since Dr. B graduated and moved on :(. We liked Dr. H very much, and he seemed pretty on top of things. He felt that Harvey is doing really well, considering his age and issues. He ran B/W to check his kidney values, did a fructosamine at my request, and a urinalysis. They checked his BP and said it was very good, especially considering where he was. He said that he could do a U/S to check the thickness of the intestines for changes, but it wouldn't affect how they are treating him and would basically just be to satisfy my curiosity. I appreciated his honesty and decided I wasn't that ($$) curious. He said we will know the lymphoma is progressing by his appy, if he starts vomiting or having diarrhea, is lethargic, etc. The fact that he has none of those issues means things are pretty static. So now we just wait for the results to see how his kidneys are doing. Harvey was VERY, very good for the whole thing - we were there for almost 4 hours. He was cooperative with the IM, student, and technician and even settled down somewhat in the car. He was VERY happy to get home, though. His appy has been at full strength all day, despite the trauma.:)

Not so Miss Minka. She would not eat a bite of anything this morning, which really added to my stress level, as I did not have time to open umpteen cans and try to coax her to eat. I needed to get her pills into her before I left, as I figured I'd be gone all day. So I syringed 9 ccs and gave her the meds. I left two plates of cat food and a bowl of baby food for her. She didn't touch any of it. :( Minka has had only a small amount of cat food so far tonight, despite the Cerenia and Cypro I gave her on my way out the door. I will be syringing more if she doesn't eat more this evening. *SIGH*

Sasha was also not excited about eating, but that fits her recent pattern, so I wasn't concerned. She had polished off 80% of her breakfast and the little bowl of baby food I left her when I got back. She has since been eating just fine. :)

Oops! There's the timer! Thanks to all who visited us this morning. I don't have any appointments in the next two days, so I hope to catch up on what's happening with everyone.

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Sienne & Gabby, Marilyn & Polly, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Good boy, Harvey! Eat yer fuds Minka! You, too, Sasha.
Deputy Cinco, Rusty is looking forward to having you back at the lagoon--on the beach is OK!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

If you're going to be home the next few days to test, I think I'd go ahead with the increase and see if you can nudge him down just a little more but others may have different opinions

Great vetty report (so far) on Harvey!! Hopefully the test results you're waiting on will be as good as the rest of his report!

Sasha...be a good kitty and keep eating....you don't have to rush...just keep eating!

Minka...what are we going to do with you? You've got to eat and your really worrying your mama (and all of us too!) Please be good and try to eat more for your mama!!

Hey Cinco!! Been missing you down at the lagoon and hope to see you back soon!! I went all the way out into the really deep water looking for you the other day! Nice to see you on shore today though!

Sounds like a good report for Harvey. Now just the waiting game for the blood tests. The rest of you lot cooperate! You and the bean will be home for two whole days!:cat:

Thanks for visiting us, Ella, Chris and Ann.

Looks like Cinco is headed off on another goofy cycle. Does anyone understand what's going on here? Why does he go higher after his shot, then come down way at the end of the cycle? This is the third night in a row that he's done this, and we've seen it a couple other time in the past few weeks. What does it mean?

Minka just ate a little bit more cat food - still not up to a full meal for tonight. Sasha, however, is happily eating whatever I bring her. As is Harvey. He is certainly none the worse for his adventures today. I did get a call from the student on his case, and she said some of the bloodwork results were in, and so far nothing has changed since his last tests. Unfortunately, it was a voice mail message, as she just had to call at the exact moment I was taking out the garbage! I couldn't call her back because it showed as a "private number" on my phone, and the general number I have for her wouldn't have worked as it was after hours. She's going to call again in the morning (and will no doubt wake me on the first morning I get to sleep in a little), so I can get more details then.

I forgot to mention that I did ask the IM about switching to Budesonide, and he said that was more effective with IBD, but that Pred was much better with Lymphoma. It was worth a try!

It's a bit of a line ball call with his dose, leaving it for a couple of extra cycles won't hurt but neither would taking it back up only for him to earn a quick reduction - very helpful I know!

As for his goofy cycles, you already know the likely answer to that one - because he's a cat! Vyktor's done that a couple of times too, just keeping us on our toes.

I'm glad Harvey's vetty visit went well. I hope his b/w comes back good. I hope Cinco starts using the lb again. Sending appy vines for the girls. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:

Yay for a good vetty visit for Harvey!! Prayers that all of his BW is perfect.

I think Cinco is just messing with ya !! I wish I had ideas about why he has some funky cycles, but unfortunately I think I have to fall back on the standard "he's a cat!". Hopefully someone who is better at reading a SS can see a pattern for you.

I'm glad Minka started eating at least a little cat food. I know the one vetty told you to try cutting out baby food. Did you notice a difference in her general demeanor on the days that she didn't have baby food VS how she's been the past few days? Just wondering if maybe there really is a connection. I know it's a conundrum since sometimes baby food is all she'll eat...:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Gosh Tricia, you have your hands full! Do you ever have time to sit down!!
Sending a plane load of Aussie appy vines, feel better vines, don't touch the spot vines, LB vines, good cycle vines.
:bighug:,:bighug:
Sheba sometimes has cycles where she goes up in the middle and comes down for preshot. Can never figure out why.
