Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos

Wow! Look how early I am today! What the heck is going on??? Oh yeah - no appointments!

Cinco got his bump up to 1.0 this morning. Too early to tell, of course, if it's making a difference. So far his numbers look the same as yesterday on .75. C'mon Cinco, let's see some action!

No pee or poo outside the box YET today (anti-jinx). Collar still on. Hasn't messed with any of his legs. I'm not sure if he can get to the spot on his left hind leg with the collar on, but I'm not going to take a chance and take it off for at least a few more days.

Minka is having another awful appy day. Will not eat ANYTHING. :arghh: She did seem a little nauseated this morning, so I gave her all the usual meds. She stopped licking her lips, but she still won't eat. I syringed 9 cc earlier to get food in her belly for the meds, and I just now syringed another 7cc. She doesn't seem to mind it, but after about 7-9 cc she's done with the process. I don't push it because I want her to continue to cooperate. If she doesn't eat anything later, I'll syringe some more. If she's still like this tomorrow, I think I'll call our regular vet and see if they can fit her in for a quick check up. I hadn't been giving her the squash the past few days, and her poos are small and dark and hard. I just removed one from her tail feathers. o_O Maybe that's the problem. I just gave her 2 ccs of squash, too. How I wish she could tell me what's wrong! :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Sasha is making a habit of not eating her breakfast, but then eating well later. I've tried giving her morning tummy meds, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Not sure what's up with that, but as long as she's getting enough food I'm not going to sweat it too much. She is NOT liking getting those eye drops so frequently. I haven't actually done the every two hours that the OV wanted, but I'm getting in at least four doses a day. She runs when she sees me coming now. Fortunately, she's easy to catch.;)

Harvey is doing well, hoover is still on high. The student called again this morning and said most of the results were back. He's still slightly anemic, but better than last time (I suspect that's from the chlorambucil). His kidney values were actually slightly better although on the high side of normal still. He had a small amount of protein in his urine, so they want to do a culture. I okayed it. His glucose was 483!!! :eek::nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: Fructosamine should be back tomorrow. They aren't worried, but I am!!! They did check for ketones, and that was negative, thank goodness.

I'll get a copy when I'm there with Sasha on Monday for her dental recheck.

Well, I haven't had lunch yet and my tummy is protesting, so I'd better go make a sandwich. Maybe Minka will eat some tri tip today. Paws crossed. BBL.

Have you tried giving Minka some miralax. If not I would ask your vet about it. Sure works for Max. Constipation could definitely cause inappetence and the meds definitely can cause constipation. That might be a simple fix. Hope so.
 
Thanks, Elise. I put Miralax in the food I syringe. She won't eat food that has ANY supplements in it, so it's either syringe it or put it in capsules. She already gets 13-15 pills/capsules a day, so I hate to add anymore!

Max gets his in Gerbers. Wow, that's a lot of capsules. I was hoping she wasn't already getting it.

Sorry to hear Minka still isn't eating. I sure hope it's just that she's full up from the other end and there's just no room for more. At least it's an easier "fix".

I with you on Sasha..as long as she's eating enough by the end of the day, I wouldn't worry so much about when she's eating it!!

Sure hope Harvey's fructosamine comes back normal...I don't know how you'd add any more to your schedule as it is! Sure don't need adding the chore of chasing Harvey around to test/shoot to the mix

You have that right, Chris! It would be a nightmare. :eek: I don't even want to think about it. :nailbiting:

I know, I know. It's that instant gratification thing the current generation has - guess I caught it. Patience pants are on, but I've gained weight and they are really uncomfortable!

Okay, nice PMPS, compared to some others lately. Now the big question is, will he go up or down?????o_O
 
i found a new food ... for the non -diabetic kitties .... at least until we get new values.

i've only found it in the big stores.... not my grocery.... but I know it's new....
Shadow would have liked it because of the cheese.

it can't be to bad since it's a classic pate... ( i hope - antijinx )

Sure wish I had some magic words to kick start Minka's appy. Hope beyond hope something gets her going. On both ends.

Of course, lots of vines for vetty report for Harvey. And maybe some scritches, too.

And as long as she's eating, Sasha's time for eating is no big deal.

Woo Hooo! He came down! Not much, but it's not up! :)

Thanks for stopping by, Marilyn. No magic words, but L&L Land vines are powerful, and Minka has actually eaten about half of her dinner, so that's a big improvement from earlier today. I'm still not giving up the idea of a vet visit, but we'll just have to see how the rest of the night goes, and how she's doing tomorrow morning.
 
Blue is good, but green is better Cinco. I hope his legs are healing now.

Sorry to hear Minka is causing so much worry. :bighug: I hope she thwarts your plans for a vet visit by eating more tonight. Some cats just like to eat more at night than they do during the day.

Many vines for Harvey's fructosamine. We had one member whose kitty was on an OTJ trial, had to go for a 3 hour car ride and hating traveling so much he got up over 400. :eek: But brought it down when he got home. Stress can do a number on the numbers.
 
Vines, vines and more vines. Eat up Minka. Good that Cinco hasn't been eating up his own legs again! Paws and everything else crossable crossed for Harvey's fructosamine :nailbiting: Nice of Sasha and the others to try and keep your mind off it?

I was going to also comment on the excellent lb results but the day has gone on since then so I'm not sure if it's still applicable lol

Serryn, much to my surprise, it is applicable. Don't know how long this new behavior will last, but I'll enjoy every second of it!

Minka is eating some baby food now. She's had about half a jar through the evening, as well as a small serving of some Weruva. Guess the vetty threat is almost as good as the dosecrease threat!
 
I hope the vetty-threat continued to work for Minka and that her appy is now stellar.

Yikes on Harvey's glucose!! He tested high before, too, didn't he? Do they think it's some sort of false reading? I would think red flags would be going up left and right!

Work that increase, Cinco!
