Yesterday at Tricia's House of Chaos
I don't know if I can post one of my semi-humorous condos today, as my heart is heavy and my eyes full of tears. Our dear Tess is flying free and I just can't seem to think of anything more important than how Ann and John are feeling right now. Hugs and prayers to them both, and to all of us here at L&L Land that loved that little cat.
Cinco continues to underperform at his new dose. I really hope it's just inflammation, as some have suggested, and will get better in time. He did make a cameo appearance in the lagoon last night. I guess I shouldn't complain, because I didn't have to worry about him today while I was gone with Sasha.
Minka's appy was crappy again. I syringed 9 cc of Purina NF and gave her some Cerenia and Cypro before I Ieft, but she didn't eat anything while I was gone and nothing when I got home, altho I offered four different cat foods and baby food. I'll syringe some more tonight if she still isn't eating, and call the vet if it continues tomorrow (that threat worked before, so thought I'd try it again).
Sasha had her dental recheck. We didn't get to see the same dentist, as she was handling an emergency, but the one we did see said she had participated in Sasha's procedure, so she knew what was going on. The tech picked her up and Sasha went right for the shoulder hug. The tech also remembered her, and she held her like that for the entire exam. The dentist said that the reason the tooth was irritating the gum was that her lower teeth were missing and there was nothing to stop it from going right down into the gum. The area was red again, and she said it will keep happening. There are two solutions. The first is to file down the teeth so they can't reach the gum. This is problematic as they can't be sure if they've filed off enough until the procedure is done and she's no longer intubated. They would also have to do root canals on those teeth, which is difficult on such a small cat. The second option is to pull the teeth. We agreed that was the better option, but they don't want to do it right away. They said to watch and see if it's bothering her, or gets really inflamed again, and then they would do the extractions. It could take months to get to that point and they don't like to pull perfectly good teeth unless they have to..
Harvey hoovered through his breakfast, then decided he didn't like that flavor when I gave him seconds.
He cleaned up most of the food that Minka rejected, though.
Time to go get my pretzel bites. bbl.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Sienne & Gabby, Deborah & Shasta, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie.
Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.
