Hi @Stressedcatmom, I’ve been reading your posts and feeling for you! I can’t seem to get my kittie out of the reds and purples either, sometimes I think that my meter must be defective, then other times I feel I could be giving him water instead of insulin for all the good it’s doing......
Hope you see some yellows consistently real soon:bighug:

Hi! Thank you for your empathy. I am starting to feel for myself as well! I'm exhausted. I actually thought to myself the EXACT same thing about insulin = water. It's a whole different kind of hell when they were in remission and got back on the juice. It looks like Scout was in remission as well. Did something pop him out of remission? Infection or bad teeth?

I hope you see some better number soon too! Lots of :bighug:

What did it for Yoshi?

I just increased a bit yesterday. It is hard to see a 3.75 on a syringe with half unit markings, but it is what it is.
I know I’m having a dilly of a time seeing
1.25 units, my eyes aren’t so great anymore, I sometimes think I should practice with colored water or milk. Maybe this weekend....

Well the vet just said his culture was negative, so hopefully it’s his bad teeth that are causing this. Man I hope so.

So glad it wasn’t UTI, that’s one thing down. Scout’s got another dental extraction in the near future, I think-all 4 canine teeth are showing resorption. Aaaaack!!!
Prayers, yes. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I wonder if the need for dental is why they aren’t moving the way we’d like them to.

Did scouts numbers go down after he has his first dental?

He didn’t have diabetes then-that was March of this year m. Now I wished the vet dentist had taken all 8 teeth out-but I think the recovery would have been too much for Scout to handle, so just 4 were taken out then.

How was he after? I think Yoshi needs about 4 out :nailbiting:

He did ok after, had a good appetite, and I used the Buprenorphine they gave me every 8 hours for pain for most of the days after, which meant I went through what they gave me pretty fast. But he was comfortable. And fortunately I have some Bupe left from a Rx my Vet writes me for his chronic pancreatitis, so I used a little bit when I sensed he was uncomfortable. He did sleep a lot after recovering, I think it just takes him longer to recover now that he’s older. He felt so much better after having them out! It’ll be a positive thing for Yoshi too, I would think.
I’m heading off to bed now-please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want/need to talk/vent-& feel free to PM me.
Susan & Scout
:)
