From Friday

We're back, Neko's sky high, dosecrease on tonight. Might be some delayed trip stress in there but I don't like these numbers. Neko had a great day yesterday, blue all day (gave me a 115 before I had to head out the door for the race ) but she was eating. She had a great appetite yesterday, had a good trip (we made the first ferry back), and she sat on my lap a good portion of the ferry trip. :) Today appy was not so good, it seems worse in higher numbers. But I gave some onda and appy improved.

I delayed giving her chemo yesterday until today to give her a day to recover. I am also trying giving ondansetron much earlier in the day before chemo and also will be giving fluids tonight which is supposed to help. Paws all crossed I can prevent the appy tank that's been happening after the last chemo doses.

We have an IM vetty appointment on Wednesday, will check her b/w after restarting fluids. And cardio vetty is going to take a quick peak at her heart (for free!!). So far, her respiration rate is still good. And she's definitely brighter after getting fluids.

OT: The two races were definitely an experience. The Tillicum Narrows was kind to us (slack tide), not so much when DH's boat went through. I heard a few crunches as boats went through. Probably shouldn't have watched that before we headed out to our start. :nailbiting: The Sunday race was a gong show. Very twisty narrow course and they started boats really close together. Normally they start them 15 seconds apart. We had several junior men (high school) doubles try to pass us. One bumped our boat's stern, lots of oars clattering with other boats, one trying to go between us and another boat when there was no room. The boat being passed is supposed to give room but often if I moved over I would have hit a rock wall. In spite of that, our boat did better on that course than the Saturday one. And bonus, it was sunny and warm. And DH got second in his single.:) We'll be back next year! Neko did really well. It was great being able to leave food down for her to graze on without worring about the civie hoover. But I think she was glad to be home.

Glad you had a nice time and Neko did good with the travels. Surely she'll head back down soon. Always sending feel good and appy vines to your girl. Sure Theo is happy your home. Hopefully he's not a grudge holder like mine are.

There were a lot of complaints about the lack of laps while we were gone. He was back to "harrassing the cat", ie. jumping on Neko in the middle of the night  and swiping her food when I turned my back.

I openned my last can of Wellness Beef and Chicken today and she likes that one, or the ondansetron is kicking in.

Glad to hear that your trip was good and Neko sounds like the perfect travel companion. Sending vines for her appy and coordination of all that you do for her. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm glad you had a good trip. Congrats to DH on getting second. I'm glad things went well with Neko coming with you. I hope her appy stays good.

Hi Wendy,
We're glad you're home in one piece (the boats, too?) and that you had a great weekend. I'm sure Neko will settle down now that she's home. Theo: leave the girl alone! Eat yer own fuds!
Good luck with the vetty appointments this week.
How lucky you were to have good weather for your races. Great that your DH had such a good race!

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Glad you made it home and had a great trip. The racing sounds pretty amazing- if a little tight at times :)

Also glad you got some sunshine! We didn't have sun at all this weekend, but at least no rain!

Hope Theo enjoys your laps! And glad Neko is eating- hope she comes down soon for you!

Poor Neko, so many interventions tonight. After dinner was budesonide (liquid), buprenorphine, insulin, then fluids and a little while later 3 Leukeran and some ondansetron. Ugh! She ate great at 4:30 snack, then a bit a preshot time, then appy has tanked. The 4:30 was a couple hours after ondansetron, so getting nausea under control is really helping her appetite. She got more onda with the Leukeran.

Neko sounds like an excellent traveler and I'm sure she's delighted to be home (despite the rowdy civvie and all the evening meds). Congratulations on the races--sounds exciting and like the weather was rather kind for this time of year.

I'm so glad you had a good time at the regatta and plan to do it again next year. Yay for Neko surfing blue in a strange place, no less!

I'm glad the Ondansetron is helping her. I hope it continues to do so. Eat your fuds, Neko!

Sending appy vines, and some scritches for poor Theo, who I'm sure is delighted to have his laps back.
