Rough night for little Iris. I woke up in the middle of the night with her cuddled up to my face - so she must have felt well enough to climb up on the bed and sleep in her normal spot. However, she is unable to keep any food down. She tried to eat a few bites twice over night and threw them back up. This morning, she didn't want to move at all and refused to eat. I was able to give her pain meds this morning, but she was screaming when I touched her and is once again drooling.

Really worried for my little girl. The vet was able to fit her in in an hour and a half. Thankfully, I don't have to teach until later this afternoon, so I can stay home with her and take her to the vet.

The boys are worried about their baby sister and have been nothing but sweet with her. Walter dropped into the 50s over night - but thanks to some HC food, never dropped lower than that. I like him on this dose and still don't think that he's ready for a reducie. So we will try to stay there a bit longer.

And I just want to curl up in bed and not deal with the world today. But to top it all off, it's a busy time of year at work and my schedule is packed with deadlines and meetings and advising appointments. Sorry, not a good day around here.

Once again so wish we could be neighbors. Sending mega vines and prayers for wee Iris. Boys, it super nice to look after her and be so sweet. Just a nice easy surf today too OK. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

My poor little baby girl is spending the day at the vet's. Her temperature is too low, she is dehydrated and nauseous. They will give her fluids and anti-nausea meds, switch up her pain meds and monitor her for a few hours. I feel horrible for Iris, she looked so pathetic. She is usually so vocal and feisty at the vet's and she barely wanted to move today. Keep those vines and prayers coming.

I just talked to the vet and Iris is a bit brighter. She got a Cerenia injection, transdermal pain meds, fluids and is resting on a heating disc. Her temperature is back to normal. She is not showing any interest yet in food, but has stopped drooling. I should be able to take her home over night (they don't have anyone at the clinic over night, so the only alternative would be Animal Emergency.... but I really hope that that won't be necessary).

I'm feeling a bit better after hearing that... but still worried for my little girl.

Iris is such a loving little girl kitty. Prayers for her quick and painless recovery.

Hugs for you -
I also want to curl up , and forget everything, except snuggling into my coverlet with a good book, and some baroque music softly playing in the background. Well, someday, right Amy?

Oh no! After all our worry about what would happen *during* surgery, I didn't think of all the drama that can occur *after* surgery. Sending lots of vines and healing light, along with some :bighug::bighug::bighug: for you. Glad to hear she's doing a bit better, and paws crossed her recovery continues well.

Heartening news, and I'm glad to hear it. Hugs and healing vines for you and Iris.

I was able to pick Iris up right before my night class. I hated leaving her, especially since she immediately went to hide when we came home. But I am finally home now and here is what I saw when I walked into the room.:kiss::kiss: She's still feeling crummy, but at least she is protected by her three big bodyguards. Flora was up on the bed too, but had to run and greet me before I could take a picture. They all love their little baby sister.

She is definitely much brighter than she was this morning and she licked a tiny bit of baby food from a spoon. But that is all she has eaten so far.

Thank you so much for all the vines and prayers - I keep telling Iris that there are lots of people that are thinking of her.

So happy she's home and look at those good boys! Sending more vines and prayers for a speedy recovery now and a big appy soon. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good to see Iris is back home with her "bodyguards" and is showing signs of improvement. What a priceless picture.

Sending more healing energy for Iris and lots of

for all the kitties.

What a beautiful little girl (I fell in love with her from the first picture you posted of her), and such sweet big brothers! I hope she will continue to eat a little bit at a time. I think she needs to learn that she won't get sick if she eats. Did they give you more nausea meds to give her when the shot wears off?

Sending healing and appy vines for sweet little Iris, and scritches to her wonderful siblings. Oh, and some :bighug:s for the worried mamabean.
