That has to be up to you. He’s really starting to look good on this dose and it’s possible he will bounce a bit after so long in nice numbers.@Amanda and a Loudogg
I've been giving a spoon of Med carb FF at each shot (I thought it was Low carb) I wonder what the bg would have been if I had given Low carb?
Have had several nights with very little sleep. I'm Loving his #'s but I'm thinking of reducing to .5 dose so I can get some sleep. Will I really mess up this momentum?
Just as a note: for an experienced member whose been here a while and has shot green, stalling is not a good option. Can you stall without feeding 20-30 minutes and see if Ravan's BG is coming up on it's own? Also, will you be home to monitor today?
Yes, that’s what I mean. It will affect his momentum less than reducing his dose to 0.5u as the new “permanent” dose (as opposed to a one-time reduced dose). With a skipped shot, the depot can usually tide them over a bit (sometimes you don’t even notice the shot has been skipped) and then when you resume with the regular, full dose, they “typically” look pretty good again within a cycle or two.@Marje and Gracie
When you say skip,do you mean no insulin. I wouldn't want to do that if it's going to raise his bg way up again.
I'm going to shoot his regular dose. I've been waiting to see #'s like this for a long while. I hope it continues. I'll do what I've been doing, squeeze in sleep between tests!skip or shoot a reduced dose
Personally, that’s what I would do if he were mine and just try to catch the sleep in between tests. He’s headed up so he might bounce or this dose might be great for him and he might see good numbers again tonight.I'm going to shoot his regular dose. I've been waiting to see #'s like this for a long while. I hope it continues. I'll do what I've been doing, squeeze in sleep between tests!
Thank You for the information.
