Have you given her anything to eat?

A little snack of her regular low carb food may encourage her to surf

I've been giving her a tsp each time I test. Is that enough?

Yes, that's about right....You don't want to feed her too much in case you need her to eat later

I remember that from the last time this happened. You helped me back then too. Thank you!

I remember I was supposed to test every 20-30 minutes so I will do that now.

    Hi there Rosie,
I'm just getting up. Chris asked me to stop by, just in case.

That's a nice slide down that Bailey has had when are you next testing?

    You're doing great Rosie!!

I have to be out early tomorrow so I'm leaving you in the very capable hands of @Gill & George and @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey (our late night help!)

Hop on your surfboard Bailey and show 'em how it's done!

    Thanks Chris!

I tested 10 minutes ago so in another 10-15 minutes I can test again.

The drop is slowing, so hopefully she is getting close to nadir.

That's essentially the same as the previous test. That's good. She's levelling out.

You guys are great teachers. You taught me all of these things last time we went through this a few weeks ago.
    Soooo grateful!

If I remember correctly, I'm waiting for 1 more upward swing measurement. Is that right?

So you need two rising tests with no food influence to be safe. Don't give her any more food and test again 30 minutes after you last fed her. Then 30 after that. Do you need to take a quick nap in between tests? If so, be sure to set an alarm.

oops. I just fed her a tsp because I didn't see your message.

Ok, I will test her in 30 minutes. I will try to stay up. Last time I tried the alarm, I slept through it.

No more food now. Let's see if she can stay on the board without any incentives.

For future reference, once she starts going up, stop feeding and see if she can maintain or rise on her own.

I've done that, the only way I would be sure to not sleep through it was to put it the otherside of the room so I would have to physically get up to switch it off.

I'll save that technique for the next time.
Not as terrified as I was the first time she surfed at 2am, but not quite relaxed enough to sleep.

I put a note on her SS for future reference so I'll have that note to remind me for next time.:)

    We've got a 112. :)
    One more test to go.

Just to make sure I understand. I was supposed to stop feeding her after her second rising number, right? So, in this case, after Bailey hit 87?

Well, it depends on how big an increase it was and when it is in the cycle. Since you were right before mid-cycle, I'd say yes, the second number. Many times you would stop feeding after the first rising number. If she drops, you feed and start the count again.

Technically, you should have two more tests, because you fed after the 87, which means the 112 was food influenced. But if the next number is higher, I'd say give her a snack and call it a night.

When you update your SS, be sure you put something in the comments about when you stopped feeding. Good info for next time. And there will be a next time.

Thanks for clarifying. I will do that.

Looking forward to the next time. Much rather do this than be staring at the pinks and reds on her SS.

Looks like she's on her way up.

I agree with Tricia, if she is still heading up at her next test give her a snack and head to bed. You're in the latter half of the cycle and there is less risk of her bottoming out on you now.

What would your normal, feeding schedule have been if she hadn't had dropped?

Tricia, I'm just going to grab another coffee and if we haven't heard from Rosie, I am going to have to go, I'm already running later than I had hoped.

I will have my phone so I can check in if need be, it must be getting late for you, I know you are a night owl but even so.

Yeah, I'll probably be up another 30 minutes or so, but if we haven't heard from her by then, I'm calling it a night. Gotta get up early in the morning (for me).

    @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey and @Gill & George .

So so so so so so so so sorry. I fell asleep sitting up, and I never set the alarm because I wasn't supposed to fall asleep.

I feel awful because I know you all stay up waiting, and you do this for so many people. I promise in the future I will get someone else in the house to stay up with me so I don't do this to you again.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for your help. Bailey is doing fine, already at 203.

    Again, please accept my apology!!!!
