That 96 in your title is very safe (our "take action" number is 50), but I'm glad you're keeping a close eye on him today!
 
I guess cause he ate blue yesterday its a low carb food 11 carbs a can but i got his 9 lives food today its 3-5 carbs a can thats what im assuming ? He will rise he always does hes just slow with his numbers i notice after he eats. Yes i just checked again its 95 now +6.5
 
He's looking really really good! Those are great numbers, and it's showing in how he's feeling, too! You are doing a great job with him.
 
Do they recommend the best numbers to keep them in so when their next cycle comes up the numbers dnt go down too low or fast during the day . Looks like blues are the safetest then when he eats it goes back up right before hes next cycle is this how it works to keep him safe so the numbers are low enough but not high enough too long before hes next shot ? I dnt want this ketones to show back up like Sandi mentioned surfing keep him surfing in the blues then his next cycle ?
 
Sugar is high why is that all of a sudden ? He was doing good ate more today ? More carbs ? Is that why ? Stressed been hiding all afternoon even though i know where hes at .is he stress cause of his ears but they dnt seem so sore just a little been pricking the edges and the top so as not to make them any more sore putting neposperon in them with pain relief all day ?
 
As long as he's otherwise acting fine, I wouldn't worry too much about the high numbers. This seems like a normal thing to me for a cat at Salem's stage.

It's not always about the carbs you're putting in him; sometimes, it's just a natural reaction of their body. If a cat has been diabetic for a while, and in high numbers, even moderately low numbers (like what Salem saw today) seem unnatural, and the liver dumps "emergency" sugar into the blood in reaction. It's such a common thing to happen we have a name for it, "bouncing", and it happens all the time, nothing to worry about (just annoying!).

Just make sure you're getting those regular ketone tests in, especially when he's high. When does your blood ketone meter arrive?
 
Says the meter tuesday , strips tomorrow i was so mad the only one had it on prime was out of stock available wed so i just went with this company but they are just north of me . Im hoping it be here by friday even though it says tuesday . I joined prime just to hope it would come in one to two days my luck lol . Ok thanks yeah sandi explained balancing but i guess i didnt take that in until now lol . Thanks ! Its going down though slowly . I dnt understand im not seeing him go to the litter box and not seeing him drink my son says hes drinking from their tub in their bathroom but im not seeing none of my cats peeing much weird ? When i clean it i see only two spots of pee ? He likes playing with cubes of ice so i throwed some in their water bowel and one on the floor for him
