What can I say?? You don't mess with perfection!!
Thanks to everyone who have been following the drama with my mom and offering suggestions. Considering the cost of moving her, while I'm checking into a few options, I'm going to try something different with her.
It occurred to me that her Physical therapy appointments were always right after lunch, and she's been walking down two long hallways to go to lunch at the attached Senior Nutrition site and then having to walk all the way back...then I show up wanting her to walk down one long hallway to get to the main door and out to the car. That may be too much for her.....so on Tuesday when she has her next PT appointment, I'm going to tell her not to go down for lunch.....see if she can make it to PT when she hasn't just used up most of her energy. We'll see I guess.
Tomorrow's her 87th birthday and I've invited the rest of the residents in her building for cake and ice cream in the afternoon...I hope that it goes smoothly and she has a good time.
Here's the cake I chose for her
It's got different colored icing along the edges and instead of a photo, it's got 87 written in...and a "Happy Birthday" sign along the top corner. Red Velvet with crème cheese icing....should be good!!
