Yesterday Cabergoline Day 39

Dosecrease on board. She found the birds right outside our sliders this morning. I put a feeder on shepard hook and it's about 5' from the sliders. She didn't stay there long but Her tail was flipping. PJ has parked herself there for 2 days now. We had 1.5" of snow last night. Now It's raining. Now there is a squirrel under the feeder PJ is talking to.

Does anyone know the carbs or phos on Dr else's wet Clean Protein? Search only comes up with the dry info and it's not on the list or website?

20+ they keep coming. Right outside my sliders some as close as 3 ft. Tux and PJ are glued to the glass.

Okay. Now just to find a few single cans to see if they will eat it.
Chewy.com only has it by the case but if they won’t eat it will give you a refund and tell you to donate it. They are the best. They read my review on the salmon which is really chicken and salmon and gave me a refund. I didn’t ask for one because in the ingredient list chicken was included. Mocha can’t eat chicken but I bought it before I figured it out. My review just said don’t forget to check the iingredients.

Dr called me with the labs. I will pick up the copy tomorrow. 1st thing she asked me was "is Olive off, behaviour a bit odd" I reply yes. Day of visit when we got home she curled up and slept in litter box, occasionally curled up in places she doesn't normally sit. Not hiding. Eating well but slower. Leaves some food but goes back in 15-20 minutes to finish it. Glucose is rising. More blah days than active days. She has pancreatitis and thinks Olive has had it as long as I've had her. But agreed with previous vet to let her settle in and get the insulin consistent before further tests and treatments.

From copies of previous vets lab she had it in Feb, it went down a lot in Mays labs but now is high again.

She asked if I refrigerated the urine. I replied yes because it would be over 6 hrs before I got it there. That explains the crystallization but not the serious kind. I mentioned how long it takes Olive to go, not straining though. She thinks Olive could have a back or spine narrowing or pinched nerve. She does listen to my concerns I must say.

So tomorrow after my orientation I will be picking up some bupre and the lab reports.

My poor baby. :(:(:(

Max had chronic pancreatitis for several years and I think it caused his diabetes. Treatment is actually just treating the symptoms. He had arthritis in his spine but my vet gave me nothing for it. I think it’s adequan that might be helpful for that. Poor Olive.

Work the dosecrease Olive!
Great Turkey pics. We have wild turkeys here too. They like to come into our pasture right in front of the house, but they never come in the yard. I think Toby would loose his mind if he ever saw them!

Hi Paula, I'm very sorry that Olive has pancreatitis. Rusty would have flairs very occasionally, but they were mild and I just focussed on getting him to eat. Have you read Marje's excellent Primer on Pancreatitis? There's a lot of info. there. I particularly found the IDEXX Round Table on Pancreatitis helpful (Marje cites it in her Primer).

Lots of wild turkeys around here, too.

Been through it with Smokey. He was chronic. Luckily like him Olive eats and drinks well. I don't think she has a bad case of it. It wasn't even on our radar, was doing blood work for kidney/renal. Smokey ended up on bupre daily for life. I will have to re-read the primer. It's been awhile since I have.

Paula, I'm sorry to hear that Olive has pancreatitis. I can't be helpful here; Allen had been diagnosed with pancreatitis but unfortunately I didn't have much of a chance to learn much about it :(.
