Looks like I'm going to need to put Miss China back on chlorpheniramine....once again, now that the heat is back on, her cough is back ....I really swear it sounds like asthma but the last 3 times I've taken her to the vet for it, she says her lungs are clear. (I may just try putting her back on the inhaler and see if it helps)

I noticed a few weeks ago while we were trying to "exercise" that after a small amount of exertion, she'd start coughing. It usually only lasted a minute and then would clear up but she's coughing now even without any exercise....just like she has the last several winters:(

Well I'm off to take DM to physical therapy today and then to get her hair done since they're not going to be open for her usual Friday time....Will be giving China a snack before I go though!!

Haven't heard from stalker Connie today (yet anyway) but she did call me twice last night.....once about 6pm to tell me she'd taken mom some ice cream and then again about 9:30 to tell me she'd put her to bed

Methinks Connie has a few screws loose, but her heart is in the right place....if we can just get her to calm down and relax, she might be nice to have around as extra eyes and ears

Kitties....Miss China is on duty down at the lagoon!! Come join her for a paddle!!....she may even be giving surfing lessons!!
 
Love the:D could she have allergies? Does she have any other symptoms? Like nasal drainage anything coming from her eyes?Fritz has asthma and his main symptom is coughing over the years I have also noticed clear nasal drainage and he has labored breathing sometimes while sleeping. She could have mild asthma or allergies. Either way I hope she feels better.:bighug::bighug:
 
Go China! :D:D:D I hope she keeps surfing safely. I hope her coughing clears up soon. I hope your DM's PT goes well and she enjoys getting her hair done. Sending prayers.
 
Do you run a humidifier? That might help during the months you use the heater.
 
Hi Chris, I hope that China's cough will clear up soon. Vines on the way for no more coughing.

I came across this for dry cough you might want to check it out. I haven't used it but considering for Fritz asthma. It's called Petalive KC Defense Formula for dry coughs in cats.

I've tried, but in a house this size and as poorly insulated as it is, the small portable units you can buy really don't do much and I can't afford a whole house humidifier on my furnace.

We also have the world's worst water around here and to use the portable humidifiers you have to buy distilled water or they clog up in a matter of days
 
Chris, have you tried taking her in the bathroom, closing the door and running the shower as hot as it will go? I used to do that with Sasha when her asthma was bad. 20-30 minutes in there helped her. My guest bath has a shower/tub, so I'd run it until the tub was full, which was about 20 minutes, then hang around in there another 5-10 minutes. I then scooped the water out of the tub and used it to water my plants.

Her numbers look awesome. Apparently the cough isn't bothering her as much as it is you. Sending anti-cough vines.

I guess you're feeling better, since you're going to see your DM?
