Well...it's been a hell of a day! Wasn't planning on adjusting China's insulin until tomorrow, but at about 1pm DM called saying she was really weak, cold, clammy and wasn't feeling well at all. I ran over there and she was pale and clammy and literally couldn't push off the chair with enough strength to get out of it, so I ended up calling the ambulance to come get her and take her to the hospital

Followed her up to answer all the questions I know she can't remember and ended up there until 5:30'ish (shot time is 6 and it's an hour drive) so China got her insulin 30 minutes late....guess it's as good a time as any to go ahead and move forward so we can "fall back" on Saturday!

They couldn't find anything wrong so sent her back home....her ECG, bloodwork, chest x-ray, urinalysis, exam....everything was normal (as normal as it ever is considering she's in stage 4 kidney failure)....they said she was a little dehydrated so gave her a bag of fluids and that's it

Only thing I'm thinking (hoping) is that maybe yesterday's physical therapy evaluation tired her muscles out a lot more than you'd think and today's problems were related to that but I guess we'll have to wait and see. She's supposed to go to PT tomorrow (as well as her usual hair appointment). We'll see how she feels tomorrow!

It's going to be a long night though....I'll call every hour or so to make sure she's OK until I know she's in bed

Man...sitting in the ER all afternoon is really hard on a body so this mamabean is tired!!

Oh Chris, I'm so sorry about your very stressful day. How scary about your Mom but so happy that they didn't find anything. I hope she started to feel better and will be all better by tomorrow. Hope the new insulin dose works too!!

That is a scary day, good to hear that everything came back good for the DM. Hopefully just a little something minor maybe a combination of fatigue, a little dehydration or low blood sugar. I'm sure China will understand. No good plan ever works out but the 30 min shift is still better then a full hour. Hope she feels better after PT and a salon visit tomorrow.

she's pre-diabetic so one of the first things I did when I got to her apartment was grab her Relion meter and check....it was 180 so I knew that wasn't the problem.....would have been a lot easier to rub some Karo on her gums.....LOL

That sounds like a heck of a day!
Sending ok Mum vines and get some much needed rest vines to you....
Be nice to your Mama Bean there China!:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Chris, I hope that your mom will be feeling much stronger and better tomorrow. That sure must have been a scary day.
More vines on the way from us.

China handled it all just famously, as always. Great numbers, Deputy China! Keep on helping out your mamabean while she cares for her mamabean.

Hugs and scritches,

You've had a long day. Hospitals take such a long, long time. Hope your mum stays feeling better and hope China doesn't keep you up tonight.

How scary. I'm glad your mom is okay. I hope it was just exhaustion and she feels better today. Sitting in a hospital can wear you out. I'm glad China is doing well. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug:
