Max is still getting some nice greens during the day, so I dunno about funky insulin. Good luck though, couldn't hurt to get new pens just in case :)

All this crazy driving around in order to pass inspection? That's nuts! I hope you find someone to carpool (that's a diamond lane right?) with you. If I was visiting out there I'd take you up on it. A free tour of LA! :)
 
Too bad I'm so far away, or I'd be happy to go riding with you (after both my boys are past +6, of course ;) !) You could always get on I-5 and come up and see me. I'm sure you'd get to do 65 somewhere along the way! :p

Nice slide, Max. We like those green numbers much better. Why don't you hang out in the lagoon for a while? Cinco'd love the company. :D

I need at least an hour at 55-65 but since the speed limit is 65 that's what it will be. I also need to leave after +6 and be back by PMPS. I suckered a friend into trying tomorrow. Just for fun try a Google search on smog checks. The pros say drive 1-2 hours on the freeway. One video said idle for l minute 15 seconds. Then drive at 20-30 for I think it was around 3 minutes and the. 20 on the freeway at 60-65 but you can't use the brakes at all ir you start over. Yea. Right. Another said the gas tank needs to be 1/4-3/4 full and no more no less. :banghead::eek::woot:

True Max is hitting green during the day but then he heads back up quickly. Duration issues? Eating too much? I don't know.

Back in the day (in Brooklyn) I used to go to a "do it yourself" garage. I paid the guy and he put the inspection sticker on the car. It took about 5 minutes (I had a cracked windshield at the time and the car wouldn't have passed the safety inspection.)
Good luck! I know that CA has very strict emissions regulations. You are the Gold Standard when it comes to such things!

p.s. Maybe you could drive around a racetrack for an hour at 65 mph? I'll bet someone could make a lot of money by building such a track. They could call it "Smog Busters" and locate a state inspection station right outside.
 
Ella, I think you are on to something. How about Elisr's Smog Prep course. I thought k we would get dizzy going around in circles for an hour or two. We can't pay to get a smog pass. It gets sent straight there electronically unless I'm missing something. At this point I'm just getting it ready to report. The way my luck us there might actually be an issue.
 
Max sure is having some strange PS...but his nadirs look great!!

Sure makes this dance even more aggravating when it makes no sense at all!!
 
Ya know, there is a short track or two in your area. I wonder if some young (but not too young) racer would like to take it out for a spin for an hour?? But I don't know about not touching the break. I think you'd need a bigger track, like Fontana, to do that. :rolleyes:
 
Tricia, it makes no sense to say you can't touch the brakes. I think that guy is an idiot. If that were the case nobody with a car that isn't driven enough and needs to prep their car would ever pass. I do think at least an hour of driving over 50 might be necessary though.
 
This whole car thing is just bizarre. I have visions of lots of folks who don't do a lot of high speed driving out on the freeways trying to maintain 50-65 mph and scared to touch their brakes! Gotta be an easier, more sane way.

Max, as for you. Those are sorta bizarre numbers, too. Keep the lows, throw out the highs.

Bigger bubble tonight but I didn't want to throw it out.

As for the car I'm starting to wonder if this is happening to force people to get newer cars. I certainly might consider it in two years or less. This is really driving me crazy. I've never driven an unregistered car before!

I have an entire 50 Relion that were sealed but are Arkray. I can't even do anything about it as they were sealed but I have no idea where I purchased this box. I know they are often used and are similar but it is really frustrating.
