Good morning!
AMPS 142 shooting 3.0u

Boomer ate the usual last night, eating a bit of his +6 and about half of his +9. I hope he behaves himself today, I have a family session at a local park at 11:00 (+4) and will be leaving around +3. DH will be here with him but DH has never had to manage a low cycle. I will test at +2 to hopefully head off a low cycle.

Yesterday's snowy owl search was a bust. We spent a good amount of time driving up and down the road where they've been seen but couldn't find one. I did photograph a couple of Red-Tailed Hawks, an American Kestrel and what I believe to be a Northern Harrier (a first for me but I do need to confirm the id). Other than that, I saw a few Chickadees and a Blue Jay and a flock of birds that could have been Snow Buntings (would be another first for me) but they wouldn't land so that I could photograph them. Anyways, I'm hoping to go back today for another look for the elusive Snowy.

Yes of course he is going to pick today to drop.
Gave him a bit of food; hoping to keep him level.
My photo session may be cancelled; there has been some freezing drizzle and I'm afraid the sidewalks/paths at the park will be very slippery.

Deputy Boomer! Don't go down to mend the shark nets today.

Good luck with the photo shoot in the "mixed precipitation". Then you can head out in search of Snowys.

p.s. We have over a foot of snow on the ground. Went snowshoeing yesterday at the Paul Smiths VIC and it was gorgeous. Didn't see any birds. They are all at my feeders.

Well after I got to the location (I always go early) and scouted out some good spots and composed my "shot list" customer's husband decided he wanted the session to take place on a sunny day (hello it's november) and refused to get ready. sigh. So now I'm back home.
DH tested at +4, 58, and gave Boomer quite a bit of higher carb ff.

That's too bad after you got in all that work. I thought photographers prefer cloudy to sunny so there's aren't shadows?

Be safe, Boomer!
A light cloud cover is good. Today it's quite cloudy out; a bit more light would have been better but I would have managed.

Sounds like they should have asked for your professional opinion earlier today.

Surf safely Boomer!
They didn't but I gave it anyways lol. This session has been delayed several times; once because one of DH's appts got booked right at the same time; once because customer got sick and was hospitalized, all the other times the delay has been weather related. We've had one sunny day in the last month I think. And now it's been delayed again because "husband wants sun". sigh

That's a real shame. I hope the weather. the appointments, and everyone's health all cooperate to get it done soon.
Hope you have better luck with the snowy owl :)

Nice cycle today Boomer! :D:cool:

We got rainbows on the mountain, which of course means some rain, and a hail warning. Hummers are chasing each other in front of the feeder. Could watch that all day.

We had some ice drizzle last night but by the time I went out this morning the roads/sidewalks were fine. Ice rain due tonight and tomorrow. :arghh:
I think it's going to be a heck of a winter.
