Yup! And we won't even talk about hoof abscesses!.....bummer
Kris, I wondered about that...are there such a thing as horse golashes ??? Will be praying for NO abscessesYup! And we won't even talk about hoof abscesses!
Nope - they can't really wear a high enough boot all the time because it would cause other skin issues. When the paddock is drier and he needs a hoof abscess treated I'm an ace at making a hoof-covering boot out of duct tape to cover the poultice bandage underneath. My horse is very abscess prone. Don't get me going ...Kris, I wondered about that...are there such a thing as horse golashes ??? Will be praying for NO abscesses![]()
I began riding over 30 years ago and this horse is the second one I've owned. Lost my first guy at the age of 26 to a bad colic episode. Horses and riding are a wonderful all-encompassing hobby/lifestyle. You're right, though, time and funds are required. I was always a pleasure rider but ride quite a bit less now. It's hurts a lot more when you have a mishap at my age - last major episode was 4 years ago and it resulted in me breaking my arm. That really sucks about all the rain - but, more importantly, you have a horse??? I am jealous! Horses are some of my favorite animals and I have always wanted my own horse (not that I really have the time or the money for one, but one can dream, right?).
