Not too warm here, Beth. All it does is rain, rain, rain. My poor horse is up over his ankles in the swamp that is his paddock.Good morning, Kris....don't know about up north but here it's heat index near 100 ...perfect day for a swim in the beautiful blues, Teasel

Kris, I wondered about that...are there such a thing as horse golashes ??? Will be praying for NO abscesses

That really sucks about all the rain - but, more importantly, you have a horse??? I am jealous! Horses are some of my favorite animals and I have always wanted my own horse (not that I really have the time or the money for one, but one can dream, right?).

Nope - they can't really wear a high enough boot all the time because it would cause other skin issues. When the paddock is drier and he needs a hoof abscess treated I'm an ace at making a hoof-covering boot out of duct tape to cover the poultice bandage underneath. My horse is very abscess prone. Don't get me going ...Kris, I wondered about that...are there such a thing as horse golashes ??? Will be praying for NO abscesses

I began riding over 30 years ago and this horse is the second one I've owned. Lost my first guy at the age of 26 to a bad colic episode. Horses and riding are a wonderful all-encompassing hobby/lifestyle. You're right, though, time and funds are required. I was always a pleasure rider but ride quite a bit less now. It's hurts a lot more when you have a mishap at my age - last major episode was 4 years ago and it resulted in me breaking my arm.
I do a lot of what's called"ground work" with my horse. Tons of fun!
