Hi Everyone,
Another perfectly awful weather day here today: rain, wind, dark. We "lost" a tree in the storm last night. Actually the tree (a spruce) had been dead for years, but was being held up by a group of birch trees and was hard to get at. Well, the birch trees are still holding it up, but it fell part of the way over in a huge gust of wind (may have been a "microburst", our neighbor lost part of his rail fence). So a tree guy came today to look at it and will take it down and also clear away many of the fallen trunks and large limbs that have been in the wooded part of our backyard for quite a while.
Rusty slept through the storm. So did his beans! The LagoonMeister is patrolling the deep end today. I took his dose back down by 1/2 drop, back to where it had been before our trip to the city.
Tomorrow, weather permitting, we're driving to Potsdam to see an art show, the proceeds of which will go to the Potsdam Humane Society. The show is devoted to pictures of animal companions. And there will also be portraits of some of the shelter cats and dogs. Our friend has two portraits in the show: Rusty's portrait (a lino-block print that some of you may remember) and a lino-block print of his cat, Minerva. We'll have lunch with our friends, visit the show, and come home. I hope the roads will be good. Rusty will hold the fort. Here's our copy of the Rusty block print. The exemplar in the show is apparently somewhat darker in color.
Full report on the show tomorrow.
Wishing all a good evening and sending vines to all in need.
