Rose is relaxing today. She continues to have an obsession with the water bowl, so I'm worried about her. She is getting 200ml of SQ fluids daily and also has extra water added to all of her food.

With all the medications she is taking, I think I need to re-group. I am starting to worry if there is more harm than good in terms of side effects and added sugars (Cisipride, Ranitidine, Laculose). Vet suspects some type of allergy in her recent BW, so I'm reviewing all changes made in last month. Wow - lots going on both with meds and supplements.

@Tanya and Ducia asked about food yesterday. Rose eats FF classics. I know these are high P, so I'm adding aluminum hydroxide to every meal / snack now. We have tried a couple from the LC / Low P list but she doesn't really like them as much. Probably need something of a pate variety as opposed to shreds. Rose also gets to "share" anything I'm cooking such as plain chicken or beef, so she will eat chunks of meat, but is particular regarding when to use the 4 teeth she has left.

Happy to hear any recommendations. Rose is now dealing with DM, CKD, and constipation. She is a good eater. She is at a good weight (focused on adding 1lb in the last month). She lives 3 other cats who have enjoyed the focus on food and schedule associated with managing her DM over the last year.

Yesterday.

Not the lowest but i would bet she would eat DAVE’s Naturally Healthy Grain Free
Turkey & Giblets 29% protien, 4% carb, 216 phos, 195 calories/5.5oz can
Beef & Chicken Dinner 29% protien, 4% carb, 182 phos, 195 calories/5.5 oz can

Another one but I haven't tried it yet
NEWMAN'S OWN - Organic - Grain Free
Turkey 27% protien, 2% carb, 225 phos, 205 calories/5.5oz can

Another option is to puree shreds in a magic bullet (@Girlie's mom is doing this).

On a tangent - do you know of anyone using Darwin's Kidney Support? Looks great on paper, so looking for confirmation it is a good thing. @Alicia & Maggie mentioned Darwin's recenntly, but I don't know if she tried it yet.

Thanks!
Sorry, I didn't try Darwin's. Maggie is also a pate-only eater. I also am using a small blender to puree shreds because there aren't many low carb, low phos food in pate style. Maggie's eating Soulistic Polynesian Picnic, Cats in the Kitchen Fowl Ball, and Merrick Limited Ingredients Duck. I found these all at Petco. See my spreadsheet (two different tabs) for foods I found to be low in carbs and phos, per Tanya's and Dr. Lisa. Hope you find something Rosie likes!

Hey Carol, just wanted to weigh in on the Darwin's Kidney Support. Although it looked pretty good on paper, I decided against it because the salt content was a bit high for my kitty Uncle and the bone content is also very high which contributed to constipation :nailbiting:.
hope the info helps :bighug:

Hi Carol and Rosie,
just got online and got the tag:

have you checked the Organix Chicken Pate (sold @Petco- by my place, at least)?
Prot 31, Fat 65, Carbs 4 , P 182/ 159 Kcal per 100Kcal.. Not ideal protein to fat ratio, I understand, but still a Pate style/ Low P/ sold at Petco and still something new on the menu..
It is in the Dr. Lisa's chart.
I am so happy you 've talked to Marje..
Keeping my fingers crossed little sweet patchy face recovers promptly!
