Good morning all, grey Sunday but some bright spots so far...
Sootie's ambg 59. BAR but iffy appy on first fud offering. Realizing she didn't have her b12 on Friday and am thinking if it's her sniffer that's off, could be the sinus infection might not be as resolved as it seemed to be after 10 days clindamycine injections. So thinking to start those again.
She was at the top of the stairs this morning sweet sweet Sootie cheering me on in my more than awkward ascent with multiple dishes (some with lids on 'em).
(BTW: I've given up on dosing the omeprazole in any way shape form or manner. The capsule contents, like the micro dose pills, are loaded with sugar, so forget that. and the sugar free liquid (even the new chicken flavor) she tortures about.)
Really bright spot in our day: thank you all for the thumbs up for Sootie's recent days being OTJ trial! We are thrilled and very very very grateful! Big hugs and thanks!
Azalea was ok with a few syringefuls of liver shake during the night but no to eating anything on own. This morning was not only ok with more liver shake but dove into the dish, drinking up the entire near 1/4 cup's worth. She's got a spirulina chin! After that offered her some baby fud slurry..nope. She now does a kind of cough/sneeze after eating and then settles in. I started her on the clavamox this morning, now being sure that she has a bit more in her tummy, is continuing to keep fud down and is swallowing well.
Oh yes, I added probiotics to the liver shake recipe and made it with carrot juice this time.
I'm on the fence about dosing bupe. With three vets (homeopathic, traditional, OV) in the loop, it's been a bit of a dance. But I am grateful that these three are more in sync with each other for Azalea than Sootie's gi specialist has been willing to be.
HV's post op approach, Friday and yesterday, was less is more, do the remedies, she needs rest and will come around. She did just that when did her Snow White awakening yawn yesterday morning.
OV, yesterday, thought that Azalea was showing that she might be one for whom it may take 48-72 hours for the anesthesia to completely clear her system. Does not know why azalea's mouth clamped shut for the first 24 hours post op. Advises extreme caution in dosing the bupe bc of azalea's prior reaction to tramadol, eg opiate effect pain meds. We'd opted not to do onsior post-op bc of possible renal stress.
Reg vet st first said Azalea needs pain med pronto bit then mitigated to use caution with bupe, maybe micro dose.
I think the homeopathics are helping with some of the pain. I don't want her to be in pain but I also don't want pain meds to set us back in her restored reflexes = ability to eat.
Photo here of Azalea this morning, spirulina chin and all, just after lapping up her liver shake.
Thoughts???? Hugs love thanks and sorry about the length of this post!
