Good morning all, grey Sunday but some bright spots so far...

Sootie's ambg 59. BAR but iffy appy on first fud offering. Realizing she didn't have her b12 on Friday and am thinking if it's her sniffer that's off, could be the sinus infection might not be as resolved as it seemed to be after 10 days clindamycine injections. So thinking to start those again.
She was at the top of the stairs this morning sweet sweet Sootie cheering me on in my more than awkward ascent with multiple dishes (some with lids on 'em).

(BTW: I've given up on dosing the omeprazole in any way shape form or manner. The capsule contents, like the micro dose pills, are loaded with sugar, so forget that. and the sugar free liquid (even the new chicken flavor) she tortures about.)

Really bright spot in our day: thank you all for the thumbs up for Sootie's recent days being OTJ trial! We are thrilled and very very very grateful! Big hugs and thanks!

Azalea was ok with a few syringefuls of liver shake during the night but no to eating anything on own. This morning was not only ok with more liver shake but dove into the dish, drinking up the entire near 1/4 cup's worth. She's got a spirulina chin! After that offered her some baby fud slurry..nope. She now does a kind of cough/sneeze after eating and then settles in. I started her on the clavamox this morning, now being sure that she has a bit more in her tummy, is continuing to keep fud down and is swallowing well.

Oh yes, I added probiotics to the liver shake recipe and made it with carrot juice this time.

I'm on the fence about dosing bupe. With three vets (homeopathic, traditional, OV) in the loop, it's been a bit of a dance. But I am grateful that these three are more in sync with each other for Azalea than Sootie's gi specialist has been willing to be.
HV's post op approach, Friday and yesterday, was less is more, do the remedies, she needs rest and will come around. She did just that when did her Snow White awakening yawn yesterday morning.

OV, yesterday, thought that Azalea was showing that she might be one for whom it may take 48-72 hours for the anesthesia to completely clear her system. Does not know why azalea's mouth clamped shut for the first 24 hours post op. Advises extreme caution in dosing the bupe bc of azalea's prior reaction to tramadol, eg opiate effect pain meds. We'd opted not to do onsior post-op bc of possible renal stress.

Reg vet st first said Azalea needs pain med pronto bit then mitigated to use caution with bupe, maybe micro dose.

I think the homeopathics are helping with some of the pain. I don't want her to be in pain but I also don't want pain meds to set us back in her restored reflexes = ability to eat.

Photo here of Azalea this morning, spirulina chin and all, just after lapping up her liver shake.

Thoughts???? Hugs love thanks and sorry about the length of this post!

I don't have advice, but I wanted to say whoo hoo!!! Good girl eating your liver shake Azalea!!! :cat:

And happy OTJ trial day 9? for Sootie!!!

Yay for liver shake!!!!
And yay for yes today for Sootie's day 9 otj trial! Can't believe it's happening!❤️❤️❤️❤️

Am right now looking for the B12 bottle...all it takes is me taking it out of azalea's carrier pocket on Thursday night (when putting her carrier in the wash) and putting it in a logical place....ah lightbulb goes on...laundry room! I've looked every place but there!:banghead: ;)

I'm so glad Azalea enjoyed the liver shake. It will take time for her to recover from the surgery and anesthesia and get back to her normal eating habits. I'm not sure about the pain medicine since you are also giving homeopathic remedies. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Congrats on OTJ Trial Day 9 with Sootie. If you list each day like that in your subject line, everyone can cheer you and Sootie on.

Wow and Okie Dokey! Thanks too for the woo hoo's!

Thread title, here we go! I was gonna ask about whether to and or where best to note otj trial on SS!

Today not my day for technology...or knowing where my brain is. But I did find the bottle of injectable b12. Yep! In the laundry room! Whew!

With that mystery solved, Sootie got a bit of fluids, her weekly b12, and restart on the clindamycin. Wasn't thrilled and was disappointed that the bag of freeze dried minnows were nowhere in sight. Freeze dried salmon not the treat of choice today. Offered new fud. So so. A big nope on the tiny dish of liver shake I brought upstairs for her to try. Maybe now's the time to try to reintroduce ezc homemade or radcat. I did get a bag of Stella and Chewy raw rabbit nuggets (frozen). Never tried the latter before.

Azalea been snoozing since her liver shake feast. Just offered her a new dish. Syringed about 1ml. Nope. Clamping mouth again. Some purr time on my chest. She's gurgling now when she purrs. Her breathing is otherwise normal. Hoping not a new issue. Back to sleep she is on her floor pads.

Have not done the bupe yet for reasons above, but am keeping watch for changes and startung with a micro dose. She was 5.7# on Friday before surgery (ov's scale).

Wow winter solstice is in a few days! And then...juleaften and juledag. I hope my ga grandmother and ga mother are forgiving me for not making any Christmas cookies this year!

Vines and cheers and hugs and healing and thanks for all in LL on this Sunday of Sunday's❤️❤️❤️:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Congratulations on day 9 Sootie!!!

Going to have to decide on a theme for your OTJ party soon!!

Great to hear Azalea ate the liver shake well this morning....hopefully she'll eat well again tonight. It's so hard on us beans when our kitties aren't eating!

Oh my, Chris!!! A party for Sootie!!! Wow!!! Not wanting to put the cart before the horse or....(anti jinxing here)...but we are tickle tummied!

How can I help for Sootie's party?!

And crossing paws that Azalea will be feeling much better! Thanks for all,

How can I help for Sootie's party?!

I've been reading your condo's pretty much every day but with all that's been going on with Azalea, I missed that Sootie was on trial so I'm sure the others did too!!

Usually when someone starts the trial, we tell them to put OTJ Trial (day #) in the title of their condo each day so one of the ladies that makes our OTJ party videos can search for the words "OTJ Trial" and find who's doing them

@Camille and Cyclone usually contacts them and tells them they're sending a PM with details (she'll ask for pictures) so she can put together a wonderful OTJ video for your party!! Hopefully she'll notice the tag so you guys can get in touch! Not a lot of time left if Sootie keeps doing this well!!!

Gussie had an OTJ party not too long ago....his video is in @Gussie's mom's signature

I don't think with all she's been going thru that Sina even knew! She was a member of the Skipped Shots Club!;)
We're trying to convince her she really is on Day 9 of what's now known as Sooties OTJ trial!:cat::):D

I'm so happy to hear that Azalea ate the liver shake. I was very disappointed when, after receiving it enthusiastically, Minka threw it all back up. :( I guess it was too rich for her. I'm glad Azalea didn't have a similar problem, as it is a very good tool to have for an inappetant cat.

I meant to mention yesterday that I think Azalea looks great for this soon post-op. The swelling is normal and doesn't look extreme, and what I can see of the incision looks good. Cinco's OV didn't shave his face for either of his enucleations, either, which surprised me, but I was glad because it looked better to me.

I think micro dosing the Bupe is a good idea, and you know Azalea well enough to be able to tell if she needs pain meds or not. I'm glad they didn't do a patch like they did with Cinco.

Sending healing vines and appy vines for Azalea, and appy vines for Sootie, too.

I'm glad you've accepted the concept that Sootie is on her Trial (anti-jinx).

I was gonna ask about whether to and or where best to note otj trial on SS!
You note it in the cell where you would normally put the dose amount. See Gussie's SS, starting on 10/28.

Day Nine!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Go Sootie!

I'm so glad that Azalea is enjoying the liver shake. I hope every day will show more and more improvement.

Hang in there, Sina! You're doing great.

Hi Chris, thanks galore. You didn't miss that Sootie was on otj trial! The green period of skipped shots kinda turned into the trial designation by virtue of consensus?! I'm feeling superstitious so am still in the crossing paws, antijinx groove of thinking skipped shots, Bg by Bg. @Gussie's mom Les, sound and feel familiar?!!! Crossing paws that all goes well, Sootie will be doubly happy around Winter Solstice!! Hugs hearts and tusand tak,

Awww, thanks for all the hurrahs and cheering on for Sootie this, I guess it really is, skipped shot/otj trial day #9.
Sootie loves the cheerleading outfits! So cool!

Her pmbg 62, and I am so relieved. Yesterday I worried about the dipping. I'm hoping that today's # indicate finding her comfy zone (though I did add some baby butternut squash to
Fud last night and this morning, being on slightly wary side)?

This afternoon gave Sootie a freeze dried minnow..and immediately spit it out whole...bypassed the crunch and chew part. No barf though. Whew.
Thought I'd try the omezaprole one more time..,this time a larger syringe with longer tip. When the syrunge is wide, vs long and narrow, the 1ml dose
Squirts in faster...less fuss time. Soots not happy but forgave enough to eat some. Next: the cerenia!

Azalea's appy improved bit by bit today. She is really good about the Clavamox. Switch syringe during assist feed then switch back to food syringing.

I did do a 'micro dose' of the oral liquid bupe. She slept calmly this afternoon and was with it during supper feeding. Now snoozing again. Crossing paws...

Time to make supper for Beans...

Thank you all dear family of LL friends for all and I do mean all! Hugs love and smooth sailing healing vines abounding all around. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sina

So happy to hear little Azalea is doing so well... when our Stubbs had his half leg removed i remember being so worried and then after he bounced back so much faster then we thought he would..

and an OTJ trial for Sootie... super exciting things at your house... come on you two keep eating your fuds and keep healing for your bean... she deserves some happy happy days with you :bighug::bighug:
