He still made it to 99 last night so that's a good thing. Lots of vines and prayers for a good vetty visit today and they have some new alternatives for Mr. Fritz!

:bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am so sorry the steroid makes Fritz's numbers go so high.

How is he breathing today?

Good as long as I give him the steroid. He had me up all night with those high numbers:arghh::banghead:
Good breathing trumps FD. I am happy he is breathing better.

I hope the vet can offer some good alternatives for him. Sending lots of vines!!!

Ok vet apt. went well. I have high hopes that the plan we have for Fritz will work. She said he had a Metabolic disease. So I am to feed him a total of 4 ounces of raw food a day. She wants me to add good fat to his diet like the coconut oil I use to give him, Sunflower oil, fish oil, grass fed butter eggs and or sardines. Also make Bone Marrow soup to supplement giving him less food. No chicken anything, she gave me Kudzu Releasing Liquid 1/2 dropper twice a day & Asthma Nosode 1/2 dropper twice a day, Drenamin 1 tablet a day. I will be doing deep Inhalation treatment every other day for 5 minutes to 1 hour. I ordered Eucalyptus Globulus, Hyssop decumbens and Pine. You boil 2 cups water place 2 drops of each place Fritz in his carrier cover him and the bowl outside his carrier and he just breathes the vapor. Then in three weeks he goes back. I'm going to run this by Marje who told me about a holistic vet in Tucson where I wanted to take Fritz but DH wanted to go north so as you can guess that is why I ended up taking him to Vegas.
This is all new to me so if anyone has input about any of this I would appreciate it.
It was pretty neat to see Fritz breathing changed after she showed me how to massage his breast bone area between his front legs when he was laboring to breath it actually opens up the airway and he started breathing so much better. I am to taper off steroids and still use his inhaler till he starts to show improvement. The goal is to get the weight off and get him off inhaler too.
Most of his breathing isn't from his asthma as I suspected from the xrays that his lungs haven't progressed. It's all the weight and the fat around all his organs.
This will be a slow road but doable.
I am exhausted and wore out. These sleep nights are really catching up to me:banghead: I know I am preaching to the choir as we are all in the same boat.:arghh:

4 oz/day of raw was what my kitties here were being fed as a maintenance diet. I would just make sure you weight Fritz regularly - you con't want him losing weight too fast or you risk hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver). Good luck with the new plan.

Wow Deb, sounds like a great visit. I'm so glad she was able to address his weight issue. It all seems a bit overwhelming for me but seems like you have it under control and so hope it all helps Mr. Fritz feel better! Lots of vines, prayers and :bighug::bighug::bighug:
