Not sure where the boy is headed with his numbers. I thought the yellows might be clearing, but last night and today I got some low pinks. A little R this morning to try to push him down a bit. He will let me know when he is ready what the plan is... cats.

Last night around 11 I heard a commotion in the kitchen, the cat burglar was working on the feeder. A few min later I heard a louder noise came out and the feeder was open 2 hours early. Uh-oh, I thought he figured out how to get in... Nope, he ripped the dial right off the top of it, broke the plastic and all:eek:. The dial has a notch to open the feeder, so it is caput, not sure how I could even fix it and I'm relatively handy. So I guess Jack wins this round by brute force strength. Now back to square 1 and time to try to find an autofeeder that will be a little sturdier.

Vines and :bighug: for anyone who needs them today, hope Doodles has a positive vetty visit, coughing fits are not on the approved list of cat antics.

Captain Jack!!! IDK, think you may need to feed him more. Not sure how many calories he's getting but I've read somewhere to "feed the acro" if needed. Then again not sure if I know anything these days :p Good luck finding a new "Jack" proof feeder  Time to get down from there too buddy, nothing good up there.

Thanks for the extra vines, I'm waiting for a call back which is agonizing of course:(

Oh wow, that was one determined kitty. Smokey had strength but he was gentle at trying to get feeder open. I think it was more of a game for him. Fresh food would be down right next to it, but he would play with the feeder instead.

OMG! Capt Jack, now that is just rude, LOL. Each time I read of one of the kitties destroying the feeder I can't believe that Bubba hasn't tried to crack the safe. Hope you can fix it!

I've always fed him based on weight and weight change. Not sure if that is right for acro cats, will have to do a little research. His weight is steady and he gets over 8oz a day currently plus chicken treats at test time, I even did a kcal spreadsheet at one point to make sure calories were good when switching foods around. He has always been an eat it all type of cat. I can only recall one time he turned down food due to being too full and that was after a christmas meal where we had to try to get him to that point to see if it was possibleo_O. He has been on portion control since I brought him home as a kitten.

now that is just rude
I wish I could punish him by not giving him pm snacks, but I can't do that. Guess I'll be staying up late the next few days. Where the knob ripped off is so close to the other plastic, any glue will probably lock up the timer and I'm sure he would just rip it off again. I fear he would be able to rotate the tray in the petsafe 5... none of them really impress me knowing Jack's determination. It may turn into a electronics project to make my own with an arduino.

Slow and steady Jack - that's fast enough. Nice to see he's finally coming out of that bounce.

Sorry about the autofeeder. Neko was surprisingly kind to her Petsafe 5. I also like that the controls are hidden under the lid, so that's one less thing they can damage.

That's what you want, steady weight, as long as you aren't seeing him get skinnier if his body is growing. Some acros keep growing in size. I never fed Neko more than what she needed to maintain her weight. I found that many small meals spread throughout the cycle helped her. Breakfast and dinner were split into 3 meals over the first part of the cycle, then during the day she gets around a +9 snack. On days I got up at PM+9 fo rrowing, she'd get a small snack then too.
