We are just home from the 9am at vet, post-trip to er 3-6am this morning.

Both er and reg vets think Sootie has a) irritated nasal passages from vomiting b) sinus infection. Er tx'd nothing but referred to gi/enteric specialist. Making appt this morning.
Sootie vomited white froth (did eat a little when home from er and before to vet) at vet and again in car. At last, vet ok's antiacid....Pepcid AC. Doing fluids again at home, b12 injection and liquid clindamycin (he was out of cerenia). Did new b/w including t3/t4. I'll enter it in her labs. Pretty good considering. And t/3 t/4 ok.
Now to get her back on track eating (with mega esophagus method) and no vomiting. 8.5# this morning down from 9.3# a week ago.

Holding off on the MG pharmo liquid bc it's a syrup with sweeteners, so will have to be compounded. Ok'd holding off on pursuing it til meet with gi specialist asap.
Hugs and love thanks
Sina

Poor Sootie and poor you. I hope you can get her into the gi specialist soon. Hopefully the treatments will help her feel better soon. I hope you can get some rest. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sina, you must be absolutely exhausted! I hope Sootie will feel better with the Pepcid on board and the fluids. And hope she will eat better for you. Did the 2 part stool help? Hope the GI specialist can give you soon answers and help.

Hi Carla
Thank you. We're getting settled in at home again. Poor Sootie had a concentration and marathon of drives in car and vets, all firsts for her.

When I called the gi specialist (who is in that particular emergency and speciality network), at first said no appointment til next Thursday Or bring her to main hospital (1 1/2 hours away) for emergency admission and hospitalization not committing though when would be seen by doctor on rounds. Not best option despite all things considered. When I called them back after talking more with reg vet, someone else answered and said specialist has opening Monday morning. So that's that. Whew. Sootie needs to fast night before but is as appropriate given diabetes and eating pace. And on Monday we need to leave by 8/8:30am for 10am appt.

Right now we're all gonna take a little nap..zzzzzz. Thank you fur vines and prayers❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sorry you're having such a tough time with Sootie :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hopefully the new feeding method will make a big difference in her life and help her stop all the vomiting....I'm sure it has to be distressing for her as well as you!!

Hope you can get into the GI specialist soon and they have lots of things they can do to help!!

Until then, sending loads of vines to you and dear Sootie.....big thick, strong vines too!!!

Hope so too Bobbie.
Got gi appointment for Monday morning so crossing paws all going smoothly this weekend.
Yes the height of the first step of the little red 2-step stool is just about right. Doesn't solve the post meal vertical but we've been working that out. She likes it (as to dancer and Bella too and for the most part defer) I may be doing done assist feeding today though.
Hugs and hearts and thanks..❤️❤️❤️❤️

Evening and hoping a good one for all on this eve of caturday.

Afternoon rough one, but surprised that Sootie's pm was 154. Was dreading that it'd be way up there. She returns to recessed places (under one bed or another, in closet and next to a radiator). However, as uncomfortable as she is and quite weary of me checking on her, feeding her bits at a time...she seems to have been holding down fud since doing fluids and b12. Did clindamycin injection 2-3 hours later (when vet agreed injectable better way to do being that she was still vomiting into mid-afternoon).
Her breathing, from what vets are attributing to irritated nasal passages and possible sinus infection from all the vomiting, still very uncomfortable for her and distressing to see and hear.

I did drop off to sleep for about an hour 1/2 tonight, probably just in nick of time given my raggedy state of worry that helps no-one especially Sootie.

Put fresh towels and cushiony things in areas that Sootie frequenting. Not the easiest places for this creaky soul to get to....but better to have clean bedding at all times, especially in solitude places to help in healing.

Crossing paws for Sootie to begin to feel better and for all kitties and beans a gentle caturday eve night.

Thinking of @Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) and hoping their day at Potsdam was terrific, with Rusty's portrait eminent in the benefit exhibit.:bighug:

Thanking all for...being you..:bighug::bighug: and with sweet dreams....

(Btw: maybe me too frazzled, but the diy t-shirt cat sling kind of a bust...Sootie kept looking at me with a "oh here we go again...what the heck are you doing now" exasperation! ❤️

Have a restful night, Sina. Sootie, you too.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty
(p.s. the art show was really nice. Rusty's portrait had a "sold" sign on it. We bought another picture painted by our friend: sheep. Can't wait to get it when the show ends in January.)

Sina, if you are in communication with your vet over the weekend, perhaps you can ask if a steam treatment might help Sooties's nasal passages. I used to take Sasha in the bathroom, close the door and run the shower as hot as it would go until the room steamed up. We'd stay in there about 20 minutes, and it seemed to help her asthma, so maybe it would help a sinus infection. Couldn't hurt.

Sending lots of healing vines and :bighug:s.

Great idea. Have a baby misting thingy in room with azalea. Have a second one around here somewhere and will set up for Sootie. I have to leave for work in a few minutes but will start new condo, tho will be quickie-like at moment...

Sootie seems to be feeling as if she's beginning to come around this morning too. Even if her am was in 200's. It's now 171. Also urine test strip neg for glucose and ketones. Whew. One moment at a time.
We are blessed and ever thankful for you all and your prayers vines and support. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
