Re: Girlie's test
That had me raise an eyebrow too, but I noticed in the remarks on the ss that Darrah reduced the dose in anticipation of having to be away and not being able to monitor.
Darrah, how is girlie feeling after her Vet visit and her injection? Seems her numbers have gone crazy since then, anything you've added to her med regime?
With these high numbers please keep an eye on ketones.
I'm still saying "mea culpa, mea culpa" re: the 0.1, but she actually shot up to 504 after the vet visit and before I reduced to 0.1, so I think she was on a mission to go high anyway. I'm concerned about ketones; no ketones at the vet's, but I hope to catch her for a sample today: litterbox back in the bedroom where I can catch her in the act. Touch wood, she's never had ketones.
After the vet she was very, very snuggly, wanting a lot of comfort and cuddles - and she purred a lot. For some reason, she's never been that big on purring, so I always notice when she does. Nothing else is new - no new meds or foods. The only thing she's having trouble with is poo: she was doing so well, but for some reason she's having trouble again. I gave her a little extra Miralax (a heaping 1/8 tsp instead of just 1/8 tsp), but if that doesn't help, then I might have to get the mobile vet in to give her an enema to get things going.
Not sure why, but my gut is telling me that she's going to need some help getting down from these black numbers. She's 619 @+4, so that's it - I'd be really surprised if she came down today. If she doesn't move by +4, then she's not going to move. I know I'm supposed to keep my patience pants on, but next week will be a difficult week to do an increase because of work: it's Friday now, and Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are out. I know I should be patient, but I'm a little concerned because she's SO high...
She's happy in herself right now, though: no sign of discomfort or distress or unhappiness or pain. Just no poo and high numbers...
