Milo yesterday
Hoping for good numbers today. Much better AMPS.
Can tell he feels good, rubbing against me and purring while I got shot ready.

We increased to 1.75U yesterday AM. So cycle 3 on that dose. I was optimistic when I saw 306 AMPS. He hasnt gone down all day. 100 per sure he had good shotand not a fur shot.
Is this still New dose wonkiness. I keep reading the sticky. Saw it can last a day or so.
Just asking someone to glance at numbers today

It's hard to know if it's NDW or if you haven't gotten to what is a good dose for Milo. It always helps to keep in mind that you need to get the depot filled before you can expect to truly evaluate the dose. It takes 3 days/6 cycles at a new dose to have a clearer ideal whether it's working.

In some cases, it may make sense to fast track the dose. Let's see what some others think about this possibility.

A puzzlement:

With those nadirs, I think the fast track might be an option to use. That lets you do increases every 4 cycles when the nadirs are pretty high as the recent ones have been.
Except...
The other thing I see, is that as you've increased, so have the overall levels. Yes, it could be some new dose wonkiness. Or, maybe, since Levemir can take a bit longer to stabilize, he needs to go longer, not shorter between dose changes. When you were using 1.5 units, you got a green...and you haven't had 1 since then.

So it'll be up to you if you want to try dropping back down to 1.5 or if you want to follow the fast track option.
I know some of the Lantus/Levemir folks here can give you more detailed feedback as they have more extensive experience with depot insulins than I have.

I have to wonder if today's numbers are more of a bounce off of yesterday morning's cycle too (Milo dropped 94 points in 2 hours) ...I'd say last night's cycle definitely had some bounce to it...and Milo also dropped 170 points from +1 to +4 last night

I'm not that familiar with Levemir, but I thought I'd throw it out there for further discussion

It looks like he may nadir later, at least he did on the day he got down to green. He hasn't ever gotten down to 50 mg/dL, which is where you want to steer the numbers.
Up to you; if you'll sleep better knowing that you'll get up to check, then do it.

Appreciate BJM. I know he won't go below 50. He has feeder go off at 230 am
If Im awake then I'll quickly check. I'm kinda interested to see what he does.
thanks again

If it was me, I'd set an alarm for 3 or 4 hours from now. This cycle looks a little like the day cycle of the 24th, but with a faster drop. You can always drink a large glass of water before going to bed.

Sienne had an interesting thought about fast tracking the dose. We tend to be a bit more aggressive with kitties coming out of remission. I definitely wouldn't take his dose back down. I'm pretty sure Milo needs more insulin, but we usually don't fast track once a cat is getting blue nadirs. Tonight may be your chance to see what he's doing and whether we should consider fast tracking.
