Cinco's Green Valentine
Someone sure has gotten fond of the lagoon lately! Cinco hasn't spent this much time there since his run to OTJ! Not that I'm thinking along those lines - I'm pretty sure that ship has sailed. Still, it's really nice to see all these lovely, healing numbers. Now we need to work on timing! I'm lucky my friends are both cat people. Not only do they have four of their own - all rescues - but Chuck has a group of strays at work that he feeds every day - even goes in on weekends to make sure they get fed and has built some little shelters for then, complete with soft beds! Kathy runs the kennel for a vet's office and she's our in-home cat sitter. So they didn't mind when I had to get up every 30 minutes from dinner or the card game to test the cat. Kathy is the one that noticed Cinco was pulling out hair from that spot under his arm.
We tried the soft collars on him last night, but they are too long and he keeps stepping on them - he almost fell off the couch when he was trying to get down, so I got one of the hard collars instead. I started with the smaller one, but I'm watching to make sure he can't still reach the spot. If he can, I'll have to get that ginormous one out that they put on him when he had that hot spot on his leg. I wish I could figure out what started this. Could he be having some kind of allergic reaction to the fresh catnip? After rubbing it and licking it, he often falls asleep on it. Maybe it's irritating his skin where he laid on it? I had a little of that ointment left and put it on last night, but I only have enough for maybe one or two more applications. I have some hotspot spray I'll try, too. This would happen on a three day weekend!
His appy is just a little off, but I think that has more to do with the collar than anything else.
Other appies are pretty good. Sasha's is excellent - right from the start this morning!
Minka needed her tummy meds first, but once they kicked in she ate fairly well and has had a couple of snacks. Harvey didn't like this morning's entree, but once I mixed in some FF, it disappeared. I wasn't sure that trick would work, but now that I know it will, I'll try it again so I don't have to toss half a can of food!
I have a kitchen full of dishes to wash, so I'd better get at it. Looking forward to seeing if Cinco continues this lovely green stretch tonight (anti jinx). He had a lot of company there today. Good to see China, Gracie, Max and several others all playing together. Hope everyone is having a good Sunday.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans.
Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, DH and DGD, Lisa's DF, Chris' DM and Elise's DM.
