Yesterdaiy's Condo

It's a pretty average day, so far, around these parts. Gabby was sleeping in the toy basket when I got up. Which means I now have a room full of toys to shovel back into the basket. All 5 Ps were present and accounted for. Both kitties are now relaxing.

Ha ha! That toy bin thing sounds like the feline version of 52 Pick Up.

My Rosie likes to get up on the coffee table and push all the magazines off. Then she looks at us as if to say, "Amuse me! Scurry about and pick them up like good little subjects."

She has me so well trained! She sat in front of me, meowed, then walked into the kitchen and sat down in front of her bowl. I thought maybe her numbers dropped but nooooo, she wanted food!

I'm curious: How does one interpret these flat numbers? The vet told me that Lantus is supposed to produce pretty level numbers throughout the cycle. Obviously that is not the case for lots of our cats. But Gabby seems to have flat curves quite frequently. I know that ECID, but I am getting ready to go to the vet next week (first time since we started home testing) and I hope to be able to discuss patterns and non-patterns with him! Thanks for your insights.

Gabby's numbers started coming down toward the end of the AM cycle. So, the excitement begins.

Cyn -- you should have looked at our SS. A flat pink and 2 flat yellow cycles. Gabby was mustering her resources for a busy night tonight! Or at least that's what it's looking like.

No social life here. lol!!! DH had some wine tasting, I stayed home to be with little DD and to
watch Max.

Randi: I tested at +1 because her numbers had been dropping from about +9 to PMPS. The drop was about 50 points, which is a fair amount given where she started. Same rationale for testing at +1.5. There's momentum here and it's early in the cycle. I just fed MC which will, hopefully get Gabby on a surfboard.

I'm not going to continue to string out Gabby's numbers in her subject line 'cause it's probably gonna be really long. I'm testing every 15 min., at least initially. Her numbers are wanting to stay in the 40s even with HC.

interesting. someone has a very carb insensitive cat. (is actually a real good thing, my cat is too). you might want to check janet's charts to have some cans of something even higher carb than what you are using for HC on nights like this, ya know so that you can bump up number easier and get to bed at a decent hour.
smells like a dosecrease to me here, working too hard to keep that number above 40.

 

Hey Jojo. Glad you were feeling good enough to stop by.

It's interesting in that Gabby usually comes up from the 30s with medium carb. I think this drop has been brewing for a few cycles and it hit very early. I actually was adding a drop or two of agave syrup to the HC when she didn't respond very much after the first couple of tests. To be honest, Gabby's not moving out of the 40s for an hour had me a bit unnerved.

Gabby's numbers are definitely not flat this evening!!!!!!! Hope she's enjoying her HC foods and that she'll feel great tomorrow.

I never know what to do with reductions. I'm tempted to just shave it back to 1.5u. I know that If I hadn't tested at +1 she's have been in the 30s (or maybe 20s). But. we've been here a number of times and the decrease hasn't held. What do you think?

I would lean toward a shave too, if you'll be home tomorrow. You can always shave a little more on Monday if that's still too exciting when you go back to work.

I'm good with shaving the dose. It's supposed to snow here tomorrow so I'll be home doing laundry -- and testing if there's not a huge bounce.
