Good morning all and thank you for your prayers and vines.

A long night. Azalea slept on my chest for awhile. Then she decided to go under the bed, coming out around 3:30 am to taste some food (the rc recovery suggested by vet), then "btub".
Steve stayed with her from 4am til a little while ago.

This morning, had to gently pull her out from under the bed; was surprised that she let me freshen her and with cool washcloth. Perked up at fresh liver shake. But she's now "btub".

Haven't dated to look in her mouth but with so many extractions....it was a lot for her system to take.

Was worried about her not peeing. But she did much later in the night.

Here she is starting on liver shake (she wanted to be by window).(second photo is of when just home last night but hunkered in her carrier). If her appy-on-own doesn't improve by early afternoon, I'm to call the DV then. Hoping she does eat more on own in next few hours.

Vines for all and the day and days ahead
Love and thanks
Sina

I'm glad Azalea ate some of the liver shake. I hope her appy picks up today. The effects of the anesthesia could make her not want to eat much today. Sending prayers for a quick recovery. I hope you're feeling better today. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Carla. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I hope so too. She's back under the bed "btub".
Such a brave girl Azalea is. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's good that Azalea is dealing with the recovery in her own way. BTUB is where she wants to be right now. And, of course, a little liver shake is always a good sign.

Thinking of you all and sending lots of healing vines for Azalea.

praying and sending lots of love.... heal little Azalea we are all cheering you on... so hard when you know there is nothing you can do... makes me wanna lay down beside the bed with them :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good evening, friends.

Quite the blizzard today. Glad it was fast-moving. We're being plowed out now.

Thanks for all your prayers and vines for Azalea. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sending vines from here for all in challenges. And xtra hugs for you, Les, appreciate very much your vines and post during this time of all that you are going through. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Azalea gradually broadening her range from on magnet pad and under the bed, to curling up on one of her favorite cat beds next to the radiator. Her appetite gradually improving too.

Yesterday afternoon dental vet called to follow up on the early afternoon update they wanted. We reviewed her progress and suggested do subq fluids and b12 last night. He asks "do you have fluids at home?" I chuckled bc feeling like an arsenal but grateful to be able to have these home go-to's.

With Azalea, fluids is a two-person project and something she has been really ornery about having at home (and one of the reasons she's been having her weekly fluids at the reg vetty). But Steve joined in and Azalea was obliging, for the full 100ml. Brave Steve, Brave Azalea. ❤️

Here are a couple of photos: Steve's photo of Azalea this afternoon alongside him; and a friend's photo that he shared of our main road during the earlier part of today's blizzard. Although I used to love to walk about during winter snow storms...well, I'm content to hunker in and not risk any more tumbles !

Wishing safe, comfy, cozy and healing vines all around ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

OMG, I think you are wise to stay inside, Sina. No sense at all in going out in that, with your track record ;). I hope you aches and pains from your last oopsy are healing.

Sweet little Azalea looks pretty good in the photos. I'm glad she seems to be recovering well from her dental surgery. Sending a bunch more appy and healing vines.

I'm glad Azalea is improving. I hope she continues to eat for you. I hope you're feeling better after your tumble. Sending prayers.

Sita, I hope Azalea is still doing well and improving bit by bit! Sweet girl, she is indeed a very brave kitty. Sending prayers for good appy and speedy recovery.

We were supposed to get something like 10" of snow from the storm but it by-passed us completely, thankfully. Looks like maybe you got our share!

@Squalliesmom : we sure did get your share of snow! Around 12" or more and plenty of wind-driven snow drifts. We're pretty much plowed and shoveled out now. A brrrr but lovely glistening morning. Forecast is for a bit more snow on Sunday. Oh no, weather channel just reported more snow tonight :banghead:. But, hey, the sun is glorious today.

Thank you all for your prayers, vines and hanging in for Azalea ❤️❤️❤️.

Azalea was front and center this morning, basking in the sun coming through on her window perch. And she ate almost half of her breffis there too. She went right to it, wanting no distractions such as cuddles or refreshing her mouth (still bloody oozes especially during nighttime). After the latter routines, she went btub. So her mouth is still hurting. Will check in with dv today. Everyone was closed and hunkered in yesterday.

Wishing all vines for sunny and mellow day and with thanks from us all here in the sunny snow realms❤️❤️❤️

Time to sprinkle stuff on the walkways before our brave postal carrier lady arrives! (yes I'll be careful! Crossing paws for no tumbles ;)).

Love,
Sina and Sootie's Tribe.

Sina - I am so happy to hear that Azalea is feeling better from her dental - and that she is eating = that is great news
Murphy is eating after his 5 extractions as well - I still haven't had the heart to look in his mouth - I give him his pills very gingerly
Mega vines for continued mouth healing for sweet Azalea

:bighug::bighug:;) Carla and Carol, thank you! ;):bighug::bighug:

No tumbles, knock on wood! Used almost a container of deicer (the animal friendly kind) to make a dent in what the snow guys left behind and was almost solid ice.

Right now am sitting in car, heat on high, defrosters full blast, waiting for the rest of the snow accumulation to thaw! Was amazed could open one door after some gingerly approaches to that goal! Kinda nice in here....a toasty time of sunny solitude.:)

I have to be at the shop for awhile but Steve staying home and to be in with Azalea.

The other kitties non plussed by the storm. Though yesterday Spunky mad dashed from window to window. Don't know what she was tracking but whomever it was, her wild side was in full bloom.

Yes, Carol, I know what you mean when you say you don't dare look in Murphy's mouth. Same for me with Azalea. I've been adding her remedies to food and crushing her standard support tabs in food (and reintroduced the entero) . Her mouth is so sensitive I do not dare mess with it . But she does love warm wet washcloths.

Does Murphy have post-op mouth ooze ? Did your vet think the entero has been helpful for the gingivitis?

Ah, I see some light coming through the vehicular frozen layers. I wonder if this is what animals of the Arctic and Antarctic see when seeking openings in the ice...

Hugs for a good day for all,❤️❤️❤️❤️

No ooze, but lots of saliva when I try to pill him
My vet suggested the Entero months ago when his gingivitis reappeared just a few months after his last dental - I think these things work best if begun right after a dental, so now will be the best time to see if it helps - it has agreed with Murphy, however. (note, I keep the jar in the frig)

Sounds like Azalea is feeling better, bit by bit. She got off to a good start this morning! Fingers and paws crossed that each day brings a little more relief, and a little less btub. Great that she likes the warm washcloths, that helps with swelling and can be oh-so-soothing! (((Hugs))) to you and gentle scritches to Azalea, keeping you all in my prayers (sorry about sending you my snow...)!
