I hope today's cycle mirrors last night. Maybe he is evening out! *fingers crossed*

Thank you @Bobbie And Bubba @Dyana @Mandy & Rex and @Wendy&Neko for your input on Rex! I'll as about the potential of thyroid when I tall to her next. She did say the only true way to diagnose IBD is the biopsy, but she wants to try these meds first. Its not pancreatitis. She's been tested for it when she had a bad bout of nausea and didnt eat for days... no pancreatitis. An ultrasound was done... Rex was full of gas. she could just be prone to stomach aches and gas. Who knows

Nice cycle Gordy!

I hope you can get to the bottom of what is ailing Rex. With her not wanting to eat for days doesn't sound like Hyper T as Forrest was very hungry at the onset of his hyperthyroidism.

Can they treat her for the gas? Forrest was full of gas too his last xray showed that and being full of poop. Does Rex ever suffer with constipation? When Forrest get full of poop and can't pass, he is nauseous too and won't eat.

I don't know if she suffers from constipation. Its hard to tell with the cats all sharing a box. It could very well be something that simple. I don't even know what to use for treating gas in cats... its all so puzzling.

I have to disagree. There are cats that are asymptomatic. Tanner was one of them. We just found it when they ran bloodwork before his dental. It was in the gray area so we started to monitor him for it. His only symptom was vomiting.

Budesonide is usally prescribed for GI inflammation. Was any of that seen in the ultrasound? And just so you know, although it didn’t impact Neko’s numbers, @jayla-n-Drevon had a civvie go diabetic on it. You might want to get. BG baseline on Rex before starting the meds.

Nice numbers for Gordy today. I hope you can figure out what is going on with Rex and get a good treatment plan.

I haven't been on the board in a while.... Yes my Rico got fd fairly quick which was initially from the pred and then the switch to budesonide.
I knew right away and caught it so I dosed him very cautiously as I knew his pancreas worked. I also shaved a bit off the 1mg budesonide and we have found a happy spot where he is controlled with his IBD and not diabetic. He will be 21 this summer so no complaints with a little shaving :)
