Yesterday...

The last time his AMPS was in the high 300s, I gave 1.5 units of R and he stayed in the 300s. He was on 7.5 units of Lantus at the time, and we went up to 8.5 units yesterday morning, so I gave 1.25 units of R today. It took him from 387 to 250, but with the same delayed/prolonged action that I saw on 3/13.

At least he's consistently inconsistent. I mean that in the way atrial flutter or bigeminy can be decribed as "regularly irregular" - it's not normal sinus rhythm but it follows a pattern. He doesn't react the same way each time, but he's starting to show 2 different response patterns. Maybe I'm seeing the Lantus peak earlier than usual.

More yellow, lower pinks, all good. Now to see if he follows the pattern of a yellow evening. Patterns are typically across multiple cycles, not just a single one.

I'm looking at today's AM cycle and the 3/13 AM cycle together, calling it a pattern because both show a modest drop at +2 with a peak between +4 and +6, a rise by +8, and the same number +/- 10 at PMPS. No physiological response is random. My best guess is that the Lantus action peaked earlier than usual on both days.

I don't expect the same kind of immediate yellows tonight... he had a run of yellow on 3/13 because he got a dose of R to make up for the PM fur shot. No fur shot or R tonight.

4th cycle on 8.5 units. His BG is 385 at +2. Maybe I should be giving R at night as well... but there are nights when he'll drop to the 200s or below on his own, and I never know until +2 if there's a chance that will happen on the current cycle.
