I'm not happy with Chase's nose dive this morning. Can't figure out how to keep it from happening. @Marje and Gracie ... I took him down to the 5 tsp this morning. Could it just be that he got used to the 7? I really hate to give him anything other than high carb but don't know if it's safe after a drop from 125 to 69. :( That part of all this still confuses me a bit.

You're doing great Sandy and so is Chase :) The +1 is sometimes a "false" reading because of food. If you look at the +2 in comparison of his AMPS it's not much of a "dive" but obviously he's working the juice nicely. If you're home and can monitor than I'd try LC or his Chase mix if you're still doing that.

Thank you, Karen. :bighug: LOL... I was going to let him ride, but he went into my bedroom closet to lay on the tile, in the dark. He only does this once in a while so of course... I was like... well... a little MC can't hurt... just in case. So I gave him 1 tsp of MC. I didn't have any Chase mix on hand. Thank you for pointing that out, though. I really need to study his SS more. :)

Beautiful numbers!
Thank you. :)
Are you still doing the +9 snack?
I don't see it noted in the remarks, so was wondering if you gave it up for some reason??

BTW
Chase is still looking great.
:D:D:D
I'm so sorry, Gil. I haven't been on here all day, since this morning. Yes... he's still getting the +9 snack. Sometimes I don't put everything down, like I mean to. Chase is doing pretty good. :)

I think I'll change Chase's food schedule up, a bit. See if I can get more green numbers out of him. I really don't want to increase his insulin, but I guess I will if I have to. He seems so close to going OTJ... but always seems to hover just over where he needs to be.

Drew Chase's insulin up before I mixed his food. Mixed food then did test. Forgot to give shot. Probably shouldn't have, I gave it to him at 7:30. Should have been at 6:30. And no... I didn't give him what had been sitting out in the syringe for an hour. I threw it away. Don't even know how to logged this right. I haven't had a good day. Feeling sick, again. The strange thing is... Chase's BG went down at +13, or however you want to call it.

Good night all.

I'm sorry you are feeling worse again. Sending you many vines.

He's really pretty flat, Sandi. You could try to feed him the same amount of food at PS, +1, and +2. So if he's getting 5 tsp at PS and 7 at +1 and +2, you might want to give him, for example, 6-1/3 tsp each time. Not sure if that will make a big difference or not. You might just have to wait it out.

Don't worry about shooting late. I would be surprised if it affects him. You were smart to redraw the dose. You would be surprised at the number of members who have done the same thing.

Uh boy. Talking 1/3 teaspoon... LOL... that should be interesting. I can barely dig all of the food out of a tsp with my finger and get it to wipe off into the bowel. LOL. But I'll give it my best. It's the consistency that I make his food that makes this tough. Maybe it's time to just leave the food as it is when it comes out of the bowl.

LOL. I just fed him and found that there IS no 1/3 tsp. And I just bought a new set of spoons, so I know I didn't lose it. I did 6 1/8. Didn't know what else to do.

Do you have any digital kitchen scales? You could weigh out the portions. Just a suggestion. I use scales for portion control for the cycle but don't worry about the individual portions.

ETA - hope you are feeling better. Nasty flu. It is running rampant through my brothers family in OR.

Hi Lizzie. :) No, I don't have a scale. That would be a good idea but Chase seems to be extremely sensitive to portions, even. I mean... even when he got a snack much later than he was supposed to a few days back, it was 2 hrs before AMPS, but his number still went up. He's a little stinker. LOL.
