Yesterday's blue day - this morning she got the fat back on her dose.
3/20 Recap:

Yes, we had another elevator call in the wee hours. I didn't bother looking at the clock to see the time, just hauled her into bed. She got dumped out of bed when she started making "that noise" just before the alarm went off. Just a small bit of foam. I've been elevating her bowl and giving Zantac at night so was surprised to see it. Thankfully it's a lot less often now.

Neko been doing a bit more tooth grinding lately. :( I can't feel anything wrong in her mouth, but who knows. She was having difficulty eating her raw kangaroo this morning and even left some in the bowl! I brought out the canned food (Wellness Turkey) and she went to town on it. So thankfully it's not an appy issue, but the worried mommabean is now panicking over possible bony growth issues again in her jaw. :nailbiting: I really don't want her to have to go under anesthesia again. I'll go shopping for some more canned foods today and see how that goes. Fortunately tonight's raw is chicken which is pretty easy for her to eat.

Neko is eating more easily this afternoon. I even gave her some of this morning's kangaroo that seemed to be the problem, and she polished it off. Neko has TMJ, and I think that sometimes her jaw is hurting and that's what may be causing the problems. Wish I knew how to help her when that happens.

I went looking for low carb, low phosphurus canned food that's pate this afternoon. No luck. Most of what's available around here is the shreds variety. When her jaw is bugging her, the bigger chunk are harder to eat. Fortunately the home made raw chicken on tonight's menu is finely ground.

We just had a small thunderstorm go through. I was in the middle of doing Neko's pawdicure when a thunder clap hit! So much for finishing that job!

I have the same problem with Stomper and his jaw (He had broken it years back and also lost a few teeth) He can really only eat a pate and I am still on the lookout for the the perfect food for him, that checks all the boxes. He does the eat the FF Classic for right now but I hate that is so high in phosphurus. I try to balance it out with the Weruva and Cats in the Kitchen brands, but they are shredded so every morning I put a can in the blender with a little water and mush it up for him. I'm trying to figure out what I can replace it with for his boarding this week because I can't imagine they would do that for him.

@Diabeticat - The Wellness Chicken and Turkey are pate and pretty good for phosphorus. The Natures Variety Raw Chicken is also low in carbs and phosphorus and pretty finely ground. However, good luck finding a boarding place that will do raw.

I actually was looking at the Wellness chicken and turkey, as well as the Merrick Turkey pate but both have carrageenan, which I'd prefer to avoid. I think they will probably work in a pinch though, at least for this week.

Rusty seems to like Hounds & Gatos Chicken. It has about the same Phos. (214) as Wellness Chicken. It is a nice, moist paté and smells good. Can you order from Chewy's in Canada? They stock it.
I hope Neko's mouth is feeling better tonight.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Yo Neko, see you tomorrow to plan for the Full Worm Moon Party.

Glad to see the eating issue eased during the day!
Wish I knew how to help her when that happens.
You do! At least you know to do the work around.

A certain little acro girl at my house is now using "store-bought" steps! No, not to get on the bed; she uses the low cat condo at a spring board for that. But I moved her feeding station from the bathroom vanity to a little table in the bathroom. She was just clawing the dickens out of the vanity cupboards. Hoisted her up on the table once. Later....little food hog was up and down the steps to the table like a champ! Food, glorious food.

@pollydoodle But it's so much easier to just yell at the bean! Are you saying I should be feeding her on the bed?

Whatever was bothering her mouth seems to be OK tonight - thank goodness! CPC in a flash. And she's down where I want her preshots to be (under 150).

Sending continuing vines for Miss Neko--so glad her jaw isn't bothering her anymore(anti jinx!!) TikiCat and Weruva Cat in the kichen type foods can be run through the food processor to make a more pate type low phos food?? That was how I served to Tiger anyway and she liked and appreciated the "gravy" in both. Have you ever tried First Mate? Mariko says it is made in Canada? It looks to be low carb and I imagine low phos? Buster likes it because it is a pate.
Sending continuing vines for your DF as well, hope e is getting along well at home!

Oh that must have been so worrying!
I'm so glad her mouth is feeling better this evening.
I do find that kangaroo is sometimes a bit "stringy".
And even with venison, whenever Ginger's serving happen to get extra of those "stringy" or "chewy" bits, she eats much slower trying to eat around them.
Sending many healing vines to Neko.
Next time we meet, I have some Wellness cans I'd like you to have.

So glad it looks like her mouth is fine, my heart was in my throat when I read your first post this morning!

Work that extra juice Neko

I'm also glad Neko's mouth is better. I have TMJ, so I can relate. You know it must be really uncomfortable if it keeps her from eating! Sending vines that it stays feeling better. Work that juice, Neko!
