First of all, thank you all so very much for all the wonderful messages of support and vines and prayers on our condo from last night. We appreciate it so - we know how powerful L&L Land vines are. Please keep them coming.
Cinco seemed a little perkier this morning, was lying on the sofa instead of by his water dish when I came downstairs. The fluids definitely helped. There was substantial pee on the pee pad by his scratch mat (mostly on the pad, anyway
). He was still snuffling. He had eaten all of his first breakfast, and he ate about 75% of his second. He was moving around in his carrier more than yesterday, seemed more alert, but still didn't voice any complaints.
The resident oncologist on duty today was Dr. Moore, who adores Cinco and always gushes all over him. She was very sad to see that he is having issues. She agreed that it most likely is not a sinus infection (darn!) and was concerned about the symptoms I described, including the rising BGs despite increases. Like Dr. Codde, she fears a return of the cancer. They are doing complete bloodwork, an ultrasound and chest x-rays today. She is going to check to see when the first available CT slot is, but didn't think they'd get him in today. She wants to see the other results first, to see if there is any sign of something that could be causing all, or some of, Cinco's symptoms. Her main concern is cancer elsewhere. He will be there until almost time for t/f/s, and she will call me with an update after the ultrasound, which is scheduled for 2:00 pm PDT. I took a copy of Cinco's spreadsheet, just the last three weeks or so (one full page). Dr. Moore and the tech loved it and were so impressed by it. Dr. Moore said I should teach a class on managing FD! I told her to just tell people to go to felinediabetes.com! I came home to wait, as there is plenty here for me to do and I was concerned about Harvey.
Harvey didn't eat more than a bite of his first breakfast, and about the same of his second, so I gave him some Ondansetron and Cypro and left him with two full plates. When I got home they were both clean as a whistle.
. He's since had two more servings. I'll keep dishing it up as long as he keeps eating. He's not doing much with his new dose, flat, high blue yesterday and flat yellow today, so I think if I don't see anything better tomorrow, we'll go up again on Thursday. DH is wanting me to take him in to see the IM at UCD, but he just had b/w and an exam at his regular vet last month with no red flags. He isn't any worse than he was then, except for the higher BGs. I really don't know what they would do that I'm not doing - if it's the lymphoma getting worse, all they might do is increase the Pred. I'm going to take it day by day, and as long as I can get him to eat and he's not having any tummy issues, we'll keep adjusting his insulin and hoping for the best.
I'm going to grab some lunch and get a load of laundry going. I'll post any updates as I get them.
Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans.
We're praying for good b/w results and no flare ups for Trixie.
