I thought that food only raised the numbers. Can you tell me how this works? I haven't been giving him a +9 in am or pm. And... I just found that his feeder didn't work for his noon meal. So he missed 5 tsp of his am food allowance. Not sure whether I've asked this before but do you feed a +9 snack? It might help lower the PS numbers.
I think it's because the food will encourage the pancreas to release insulin therefore lowering his levels. I used to feed Boomer a snack at +9. I found that, when I was giving him teeny amounts of insulin (or when he was OTJ) a meal at +9 worked better.....more food = more insulin released I guess. Now nothing works to bring his levels downI thought that food only raised the numbers. Can you tell me how this works? I haven't been giving him a +9 in am or pm. And... @Judy and Boomer should I be giving him +9 snacks/meals at AM +9 AND PM +9?I think it's because the food will encourage the pancreas to release insulin therefore lowering his levels. Do you have a pet safe 5 feeder? The first one I had would occasionally rotate two dishes instead of just one. The company is very good to deal with and sent me a brand new one free.
I would try it; it helps some kitties and doesn't make a difference to others.should I be giving him +9 snacks/meals at AM +9 AND PM +9?
He's been OTJ 3 times! I know the likelihood of a 4th OTJ is extremely small but I'm still hopeful.I'm so sorry that Boomer's pancreas won't behave. And to think that he used to be OTJ.
